The first England camp back was one Miyra dreaded, she held her head low as her nerves overid her. Sometimes she felt like a little kid in a big crowd, sometimes being all the time. She was no little kid in a big crowd, she was a twenty-nine year old walking onto the lionesses training ground during the World Cup with Leah Williamson, her bestfriend, beside her. All lionesses staring back at her, including the infamous Lucy Bronze.
Lucy Bronze could've burned the world and Miyra would've forgiven her in a heartbeat. The amount of love that lived within one's small heart, simply belonged to Lucy Bronze. Clearly the feeling had being returned as such. Miyra could only love Lucy so much yet Lucy couldn't love her in the end.
March 2023, Miyras single year contract with Barca comes to an end. She receives multiple offers, including a $490k two year contract with Aresenal, which only an idiot would be able to pass out, seeing as Barcelona was only willing to give her $120k to extend her contract by three years.
News broke among the media of the transfer of Barcelona's best striker before Miyra was able to break the information to her teammates. During what was her last training session, they all knew before she could even prepare herself to tell her. Most were supportive, they hoped for the best in Arsenal. Yet Lucy Bronze, Miyras ongoing six years girlfriend had a different reaction. She acted positive, but everything had come down later that night.
Miyra and Lucy had played together since 2014, playing for Manchester City until 2017 when they accepted a trade to Lyon for three years before returning back to Manchester City, just to leave together in 2022, joining Barcelona. For nine years the girls hadn't played seperatly, they always came as a duo, even before they had dated.
Lucy had been rather upset about the newfound news, they were supposed to continue their lives playing together. They were bound to get married in three months, Miyra wore a ring on her finger, they had five pets the pair associated as their children. And yet Miyra couldn't even stick around.
Miyra tried to get Lucy to see it all from her perspective, but she understood why Lucy couldn't. They had spent nine years playing with each other, four and a half dating, one and a half engaged, Miyra was packing up and leaving. They had been around each other for way to long to be able to work out long distance. It was simple. Lucy wanted to live her life in Spain and Miyra wanted a new start in England. Miyra one of her last days, fighting with her future wife, placing an engagement ring on the kitchen table, sneaking out in the middle of the night, fully packed and stealing her three cats. Leaving Lucy with their dog and their stupid fucking goldfish Miyra had begged for.
It wasn't like Miyra didn't want to take them, yet Lucy loved them equally. Miyra was only supposed to take one cat, but she felt back forcing them away from each other and accidentally took all three. Blocking Lucy on all accounts to make sure Lucy couldn't ask for them back — she might even take Miyra to court about the missing kids. Who knew.
It felt like a lifetime ago, yet it was two months beforehand. Now, she stood in the doorway of the field, with her ex-fiancé starring at her. Miyra wanted to go back to the hotel rooms where she dumped her cats in Leahs room, not knowing what hers was at the moment and they cuddled Miyras cats she brought along (she cried at the thought of them thinking she abandoned them as she flew to Australia for the World Cup.)
"Mi! Lee!" Lia was the first one up from her stretching position, running towards the pair. Alessia wasn't far behind her. Lia jumped into the arms of Leah while Alessia was caught by Miyra.
"You look stunning Aless" Miyra complimented, her dark eyes brushing over Alessia's golden features. "It's so nice to see you again."
