I was warming up to cal, he was an okay dude, will I end up dating him? Probably not, but who knows.
Speaking of cal he was now still sleeping holding my waist tight and it was, shit I don't even know. I reached for my phone on the charger as I got it cal pulled me in tighter. I clicked it on '3:57 pm, Sunday, May 22 2015' I shook Calum, trying to wake him up.
"Cal get up its almost four and we still have to go get the shit for our project". he stirred but didn't get up "okay we'll fine then let me go so I can go get it and bring back some food" he smiled and loosed his grip on me " thank you" I said throwing his hand all the way off me like you do with a blanket.
I got up and grabbed my duffle bag dragging it into his connected bathroom. 'Hmmm what to wear, what to wear' I pondered in my head I decides to go with black ripped skinny jeans (my most ripped black skinny jeans to be exact), a 'Bring Me The Horizon' jumper, and my all black converse. if you haven't guessed already I like black clothing, a lot I braided my hair to the side throwing on a black beanie. I didn't like to bother with the whole make-up situation, it didn't seem worth the effort, sorta like me.
I walked out to find cal still sleeping of course " I'm taking your keys" I stated "k" he mumbled I rolled my eyes. I walked out of his room and into the kitchen preparing to leave " hi Kai" I heard a small voice call " hi Mali" she rubbed her eyes and walked to the fridge "what is up with this house and sleeping until your actually supposed to sleep" I joked, she giggled " is Calum still asleep" I flinched "yeah, I'm going to pick up stuff for our project, and get food" she smiled "so dad caved and assigned you and cal to be partners in the end huh?" I'm guessing that was a question "what" her smile faded "nothing never mind I'll see you later."
She ran back upstairs and shut her door. I walked outside to Calum's car and got in the driver seat I put the keys in the ignition but before I did I saw a small package in the passenger seat, I picked it up and read the card aloud 'cal, I just thought I'd surprise you with a little something love you, Mali' I'm sure Calum wouldn't mind I said to myself but I had already started to rip the wrapping paper off. it was a blank cd that said ' a story by Calum T. Hood" in permanent marker.
I opened the case and put it in the CD player. (insert cals poem) I could not stop laughing I listened to it over and over by the time I got to Barnes and Noble I had tears in my eyes. I walked through the isles scanning every book until one caught my eye 'looking for Alaska' the title read, I picked up two copies and placed them on the check out counter "17.80" a familiar voice said from behind the counter I looked up to see the person I hated most in the world, Ricky.
I handed him the cash " you look great Kai" he said as he pressed a few buttons "cool" I replied simply he just shook his head "when are you going to get over that" I was fuming at this point "YOU KILLED MY BROTHER, HOW THE HELL IM I SUPPOSED TO GET OVER THAT RICKY, OH YOU MURDERED MY BROTHER LETS BE BEST FRIENDS, THAT'S NOT HOW THIS SHIT WORKS AT ALL" he looked surprised by my outburst " Kai keep your voice down, I work here" I laughed "YOU THINK I GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR JOB, AND ITS NOT LIKE THEY DIDN'T KNOW, ITS A SMALL TOWN RICKY, GET OVER YOURSELF" I snatched the bag with the books off the counter and walked off.
When I got to the car I was enveloped by tiny 6- year old cal "it was smalla than a bug" his voice rang out. I laughed through the tears but I knew that they would be back I drove to hobby lobby to pick up poster bored, highlighters, and sharpies, from there I drove to McDonalds and grabbed cal a sausage biscuit, and a coffee.
I drove back to his house and say in the car for a good 5 minutes crying my eyes out. just when you think things can't get any better, they get worse. I wiped my eyes and pulled myself together as I walked through the door Calum was sitting on the kitchen stool.
I ran up behind him set the bags down carefully, him still not noticing I was in the room "I don't know what to so Mali I like her a lot, but she doesn't like me back or I don't think she does I'm so confused. instead of following through with my original plan I cleared my throat and he turned around "Kai" all the blood drained from his face "how much of that did you hear" he asked scared out of his mind " I heard enough, so the turtle lade an egg and it had a bom on it?" I asked trying to cover up the tension "what" he said clearly confused Mali's eyes went wide and she started to walk slowly up the stairs.
Realization hit Calum like a brick "oh my god, Mali you promised me you wouldn't" I bursts into a fit of laughed and fell on the floor clenching my stomach.
So Ricky is a dipshit.
