#14: Destinations

"What?"

He smiled "hurry hurry" then he left.

I picked up the tickets that were lying on my bed 'May 29' that's only 3 days away. Cal said a road trip oh and the hell are we going to make it to Dallas in 3 days. Knowing me this won't be easy.

I grabbed a step stool and walked to my closet, I reached for a backpack and the large mason jar I've been keeping my savings in since I was 14. I dragged the stool out of my closet and grabbed all my pairs of jeans, a stack of shirts and a handful of clean underwear.

I threw them in the bag and walked to the bathroom deodorant and mouthwash were the only other things I threw in the bag. I slid two extra hair ties on to my wrist just in case. I walked back in my room and sat on the bed opening the mason jar and dumping out the bills and coins on the comforter.

'157.67$'
After I counted I had 157.67$ I grabbed my wallet from the nightstand and counted the bills in there also bringing my total out to 163.67$. I shoved the cash and change into my wallet and picked up the letter. I didn't notice before but on the back of the second page he wrote

'Oh shit I forgot to tell you but if I am ya know gone before you turn 16 I have another birthday present for you at Weststone storage and impound.

The key and papers are in my nightstand drawer

I was hesitant to go into Calum's room, but I can't always be afraid of the realization that my brother was gone. I tip toed across the hall to Calum's door, I put my hand slowly on the doorknob and turned. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding when I opened the door.

It smelled like him, the same white forest axe, I tip toed over to his bed and laid face first into his pillow smelling my brother's scent. I sat up and wiped a stray tear away, I opened his night stand and grabbed a piece of paper that had the storage locker information on it and the key. I stood up, closed the drawer and walked to the door, I put my hand on the knob and took one last look at his room and I closed the door.

I sighed, grabbed my backpack shoving my wallet in my back pocket, I turned off the lights and closed the door. I bounced down the stairs and opened then locked my front door, I walked all the way to Weststone with Siri telling me where to turn. I arrived and Vince was standing at the booth

I'm going to tell you right now, I had, or have the hugest crush on Vince, no I am not some cliche that me, being the reject I am having a crush on one of the popular guys. Here's the best way to explain Vince a sleeve of tattoos,eyebrow piercing, black hair, blue eyes, and that sexy dangerous look Vince was hot to but it simply.

"Hey, if it isn't my hero" he said leaning over the counter, I looked at him not exactly sure what he meant "you punched amber in the face high five" he held his hand up and I had to jump to reach it "what do you need sweet pea" I looked down and reached into my back pocket "can you show me where this is" I asked placing the paper on the counter

He looked over it and smiled "of course I can" he buzzed the gate open and I walked through meeting Vince. We walked through the aisles of storage lockers "here you are sweet pea" I pulled the key out of my pocket and smiled at him "thanks Vince" he just stood there waiting for me to open the locker "um" I said looking from him to the locker.

"You actually remember my name" well there goes that dangerous persona "yeah, why wouldn't I" he coughed " I mean, that's my name don't wear it out sweet pea" he winked and then walked off and there it was again.

I unlocked the door and slid it up revealing my brother's old 1989 Chevy Mustang in all it's black shiny glory. I remember this car very vaguely my brother bought it and drove it for a few months and then told us all that he sold it. Little did I know he was saving it for me, I walked to the driver's seat and tried to open the door hopefully he left it unlocked and boy do I know my brother.

I pulled the door and it opened, I got in and on the center console a sticky not said 'open me' I did as the note said and found a set of car keys with a keychain that said 'baby sister' on it. I let out a shaky breath and pulled out of the locker, I got out of the car and shut the door, I got back in and drove to the front gate and Vince walked to my window "damn that's sexy" I smiled "thanks it was my brothers" he chuckled "I wasn't talking about the car"

My eyes went wide and I blushed ferociously "oh, uh, um I won't be needing that unit anymore" he nodded "alright I need the key to it and the papers" I handed him what he asked for and he buzzed me out "hopefully I'll be seeing more of you around town" Vince said as I pulled out of the driveway.

I drove all the way to Walmart. If you're going on a road trip you need snacks, I ran in and grabbed beef jerky and a lot of it, peanuts, and energy drinks. The rest we could get on the road, the total was 26.54$ leaving our funds to be now 137.13$. I walked back to the car and drove to Calum's house, I honked the horn once, twice and three times until he came outside "get in loser where going shopping" I laughed "just kidding but for real get your shit and let's go"

He laughed and ran back inside only to return 3 minutes later, he got in the front seat and threw his bag in the back. "Nice ride K" I ran my hands up the steering wheel "I know right" as he was inspecting the car he asked "where'd you get it" I smiled "my brother left it for me" he sighed contently "okay so we have 137.13$ for spending money, you need to pull up directions and be the best damn co-pilot anyone has ever had, oh there's food and monster in the back"

"Alrighty let's get this cowboy saddled up and on with the rodeo" he said in a thick southern accent trying to tie his way of saying 'lets get this show on the road' into our destination

"I only know my way out of town so you kinda need to hurry with those directions" he reached for his phone "oh yeah"

He's already off to bad start

I don't think the wattpad gods like the way I'm taking this story

Okay so after I wrote this I took a nap and I dreamt about this book

But instead of her brother's car they were trying to borrow an RV from this person or whatever but the RV could float kinda like the one in Rugrats Go Wild and they were in this town overseas that was in the Middle East but it was an island.

So yeah then more people joined the road trip like my brother Shawn and my old dog Rome and the RV was haunted or possessed I don't know and I was there too, in the dream the demon thingy possessing the RV scratched me pretty deep.

Then Kai and Calum everyone else but me, my sister and some random chick disappeared out of nowhere

I was talking to the chick and my sister and then the door slammed shut and I got pulled on the bed and I had a blanket wrapped around my shoulders that matched the comforter on both bed but both of the comforters were still there.

Then the demon tried to suffocate me in both the blanket wrapped around my shoulders and then one I was sitting on but the girl and my sister opened the door and saved me

Then the demon dragged my sister into the closet and closed the door and set the inside on fire, I ran to the door and tried to open the door with the blanket around my hand.

It turned out that the random girl was a ghost and she talked the demon out of being a butthole.

Then I woke up and I had a really deep cut on my shoulder blade and it was scary

I think they are trying to tell me something but

I'm gonna keep taking it the way I want it to go because I do what I want.
