Part 16

A few weeks later

Selena POV

I'd pull muffins out of the oven while Emily finished the boys' sandwiches. As the pack grew, I decided to help Emily and Kim with cooking from time to time. Mostly I'm helping Emily because im supposed to get ready for the exams. However, she helps us when she has a moment of free time from studying.

Alex comes when he can with desserts or food orders when we don't have the courage or strength to cook. The pack consists of 8 wolves: Sam, Jared, Paul, Embry, Jacob, Quil, Leah and Seth. 

However, I have a feeling that there may be more of them because of Victoria and her actions. I heard Orion barking and looked out the window. I saw Isabella truck and knew that our peace was over. 

I used a spell to strain my hearing and what I heard was furious. She must have provoked one of the wolves to transform and Jake must have defended her. I suspect it was Paul because he has the worst temper c of them all. 

I was glad Leah was on a date with Alex because I know Isabella wouldn't have made it all the way out. I heard them powoed Isabella not to look at Emily's face for a long time. 

Thanks to my creams, the scar on her face is not as visible as before. Emily can easily hide it with makeup when she leaves La Push however, she doesn't wear makeup at home 

'' Here goes our peace and quiet '' I said when the door opened 

'' Don't tell her I'm here '' I said and disappeared upstairs 

I knew if Isabela noticed me she wouldn't give me a break, and I didn't want that. Emily stopped them from saying anything to her about them remembering what I had told them about Isabella. 

I could hear in her voice that she was starting to lose patience with Isabella and her questions and that meant something because Emily is one of the sweetest people in this world. 

I was about to go downstairs before I heard the rest of them come back and Jake taking her outside. I heard screams not long after that and the sound of a car driving away. I walked slowly downstairs 

'' Isabella knows about Victoria and is furious that I didn't tell her anything about us. I told her we would take care of the ticker, but no that doesn't mean the restraining order is over '' he said 

'' That certainly didn't please her '' I said when my phone started ringing 

'' Hallo '' I said answering 

'' Selena '' I heard Isabella's voice before I hung up and blocked the number 

'' Where did she get your new number from? '' asked Sam 

'' I don't have a clue '' I said 

'' It's probably my fault '' said Jake 

'' I stupidly left my phone in the garage with her and when I came back it was located differently. I didn't think she would have the nerve to look through my phone '' he said looking down

 '' Don't worry about it Jake '' I said before my phone started ringing again and I turned on do not disturb mode 

'' Isabella has no manners and no respect for other people's privacy. I will quickly manage to get a new number today but remember to put a block on your phone '' I said and he nodded his head in agreement 

I wrote a quick message no new number with the excuse that somehow my ''stalker'' had gotten my number and was calling me incessantly from different numbers. 

Within an hour I got a new number and I am writing it to them. I sent my number to the rest of my contacts new number and informing them that I am changing my number and why. Those who know about the situation with Isabella understand who my ''stalker'' is. I spent a few more hours with the pack to help them with the bonfire before returning home.  

They invited me to play with them but unfortunately I had a meeting with the Elders the next day and I had to get some sleep and prepare for that meeting. 

I didn't worry too much about it because I knew it wasn't about marriage because our magic wouldn't allow it. Our magic only accepts our mate as our life partner and would react aggressively if they wanted me to marry mot my mate.

I suspect it has something to do with Victoria and what's been going on in Seattle lately. The sudden disappearance of a large number of people always attract the attention of others. I know Alex's actions made it look like gang or gangs, but we don't know how long this cover will last.

I have a feeling the Elders will want me to go to a meeting with the Vampire Kings with Alex, and I suspect two other wizards and a witch. 

I suspect they will send me with a warning to control their situation because if their hand will be forced, the treaty between our species will be destroyed. When I got home, I made myself something light for dinner and went to bed. Tomorrow will be a hard and tiring day
