parker was standing in the kitchen when i walked towards him. he didn't notice me emidiatelly, but he eventually did.

»did you check the mail?«

he shook his head, sighing. he then poured himself and me some coffee and put the cup in front of me. he always makes it so tasty.

»no, not yet. you?«

i shook my head and sipped on the coffee.

»we really should. we didn't upload a video in like...i don't know, three months?«

he chugged down his coffee, not really taking any pleasure in it. i always wondered how he could do that.

»i'm gonna check some after breakfast. what do you want to eat?«

finally, we sit down by the laptop. i open our gmail, scrolling tghrough all the different messages.

but one caught parker's eye.

»what about that one?«

i click on the email and open it, starting to read tghrough it out loud.

hello, my name is diana. i live in a small house with my roommate, jessica. i reached out to you because...well, there's been some weird behavior around the house. not from jessica or me, just something that...isn't quite right. i would really appriciate if you guys came to help. we really need it.

»dude, she also sent a short video, look.«

i opened it. it was a short, but quite frankly terrifying clip. it was a shot of jessica's and diana's livingroom at a time that seemed late at night. there were loud, screeching noises coming from somewhere and they had no idea where from.

»parker, i really don't think we should-«

he looked at me and shook his head, looking concerned.

»chester, this is our job. those poor girls could be in real danger.«

i sighed and nodded, eventually agreeing with him. after all, it is our job.

we came up with a response to the email and the girl sent us her address. we didn't know how this was going to work out.

all we could do was hope for the best.
