Chapter 5: The Human Connection

In the heart of Sector 7 Headquarters, a clandestine facility veiled in secrecy, the air hummed with an otherworldly tension as Shatter and Dropkick, their imposing figures now in their robot forms, crossed the threshold. Dr. Powell, the intermediary between worlds, extended a hesitant but welcoming greeting.

"Gentle...uh...robots. Welcome to Sector 7," Dr. Powell uttered; a touch of nervousness evident in his voice.

Dropkick, with a subtle smirk, responded, "How kind of you to finally allow us in."

The scientist, attempting to maintain composure, assured them, "Very happy to have you here as friends."

Shatter, the more diplomatic of the Decepticon duo, inclined her head in acknowledgment. "Thank you, friend Powell."

With a semblance of camaraderie established, Dr. Powell proceeded with the delicate negotiations. "My superior has agreed to allow you limited access to our satellites. In addition, you are welcome to use all of our technology. It's the largest super array of Crays on Earth."

Shatter expressed gratitude for the cooperation offered, "We thank you for your hospitality." Her optics, gleaming with calculating intelligence, then focused on the scientist. "Tell me, those vocal communication devices you use, do they function worldwide?"

Dr. Powell, caught off guard by the unexpected inquiry, stammered slightly before responding, "The telephones? Yes, why?" The exchange hung in the air, the significance of the question lingering between the representatives of different worlds, as the intricate dance of collaboration and suspicion unfolded within the hidden corridors of Sector 7.

At the Terrestrial Valley...

Megatron and his wife, Novastar (formerly Firestar), chose retirement on Earth. Acquiring a piece of land known as "The Terrestrial Valley," they settled into a tranquil life. Their son, Orion Eclipse, alongside Optimus Prime and Elita-One's daughter, Altair Comet, took the reins of leadership for the Autobots and Decepticons. Together, they forged a new golden age on Cybertron, where former adversaries coexisted in harmony. Megatron and Novastar got to adjust to their new life on Earth. The Constructicons build their former master and mistress a house large enough for a giant robot to live in at the Terrestrial Valley. Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet did their best to lead the Autobots and Decepticons towards peace, and they promised to honor Optimus Prime's legacy.

Meanwhile, in Jasper, Nevada, June Darby cherished a visit with her son, Jack Darby, now residing with his fiancée, Miko Nakadai. As she prepared to return to her suburban home to tend to chores, a pang of loneliness gripped June. Watching her only son grow up and move in with his significant other tugged at her heartstrings. Years of working as a nurse and raising Jack as a single mother, especially after her divorce from Nick Darby, had shaped her resilient spirit.

Her thoughts drifted to Megatron, contemplating the remarkable transformation he underwent since his reformation, his life taking a positive turn after relinquishing leadership of the Decepticons. Memories flooded back to the time Megatron was turned into a human and June's efforts to assist him in adapting his human form before Ratchet restored Megatron back into a Cybertronian robot. Megatron had shared his address, expressing a desire to stay connected with her. Megatron knew that he had developed a crush on June, but he felt worried that his wife, Novastar, would not approve if he wanted to start a polyamorous relationship with a human. Megatron admitted to himself that it was very odd for him to randomly develop feelings for Jack's single mother, so he decided to just be friends with Mrs. Darby while getting to know more about her.

In the tranquil serenity of a typical day, June Darby found herself engrossed in the mundane yet comforting rhythm of household chores. As she diligently arranged dishes in their designated spots, the familiar chime of her phone pierced the ambient calm.
