'Why the hell is Eunid here?'

"Who are you?" Kahill stood in front of Nadia as he faced Eunid.

"Greetings, your highness. I am Eunid Hermes, son of Count Hermes." Eunid introduced.

Meanwhile, Nadia was surprised.

She didn't know that Eunid was a Count's son before he became her adopted brother. It was a background she didn't expect him to have.

"How did you come here? This place is off-limits." Kahill frowned.

"I apologize, I was lost." Eunid glanced at Nadia.

"??"

'What are you looking at?' I raised a brow.

Eunid then averted his gaze from her. "I seemed to have disturbed you two. I will take my leave now, your highness." He bowed, and left not long after.

Nadia looked at Eunid's disappearing image and shook off her thoughts.

"Ahem. What were you about to say again?" Kahill coughed.

Nadia looked at him lazily.

*Sigh*

"Do you want to marry me?"

"W-WHAT?!" Kahill lost his composure and blushed.

"Yes or no?"

"Wait- Why are you doing this?"

"So it's a no. Thanks."

"What-"

"Can you promise me one thing then?"

Kahill was taken aback by her sudden suggestions and all but still, he was curious about her crazy ideas.

"....What is it?"

"Once we separate ways now, I hope we never see each other again." Nadia smiled.

"What are you talking about?"

"What I mean is that, you and I will not be seeing again in the future. And that we will have no relation to each other."

"Why?"

"Because-"

"No."

"No?" Nadia was caught off guard by what he said.

Why would he say no?

"Just because. This possibly can't be the last time we will see each other." Kahill uttered.

"And why is that?"

Kahilk scratched his head.

"Well, I've taken a liking to you." He blushed a bit.

"...."

Nadia clearly looked disgusted right now. Her face expression sunk as she heard him say it.

"Huh."

"I-It's not that kind of like you're thinking of! I just found your personality a bit new because people around me usually don't act like this."

"Act like what exactly, your highness?" Nadia sighed.

"Like wearing a mask. Just like what you did earlier."

"Ah. You mean smiling like this?" Nadia showed a fake smile.

"That. I hate that. I want to destroy that kind of facade."

Nadia plucked out a tiny flower.

"Facade is the norm of the nobles, your highness. You need to understand that. Masks like my smile earlier are needed in order to survive this harsh society. If you take it off, you're basically taking off your armor. And you die in war. Like this flower."
