DANNY POV
Bzz. Bzz.
Your eyes open slightly at the sound of your phone vibrating on the nightstand next to you. You are completely wrapped around her. You're not sure if either of you moved after finally falling asleep last night. The smell of her honey scented shampoo mixed with the slight smoky smell from the bar last night, sends a warm feeling through your chest. You rub your fingers against the sliver of skin underneath them, somewhere along her waist.
She is so soft. God I want her.
Bzz. Bzz. it buzzes again.
Okay, damn.
You very carefully pull your arm from underneath hers trying not to wake her, as you roll over and grab your phone.
A shockwave of reality passes through you as you see Josh's name on the screen.
Josh: What does your day look like?
Josh: I had an idea, want to see if you can put it into a track. Let me know.
You: Yeah, I can meet up with you later. I'll call you.
Your mind is suddenly flooded with guilt as you lay next to the very girl you told him you would be forgetting about. But you couldn't. You just couldn't leave her alone and now she is in your bed. Right next to you, cuddled up on a pillow like a fucking angel.
You look over at her, in your t-shirt and the guilt washes over you in another wave.
What am I doing? Why is she here with you?
Fuck... I took it too far.
You slide out of the bed, taking a final glance over to her sleeping figure, knowing that this is as far as you can ever let this go.
You grab a change of clothes from your bag and pad off to the bathroom, shutting the door behind you.
You take a quick shower, hoping maybe the scalding water will rinse the guilt away, but it doesn't. You feel bad for letting it get this far. You feel bad for kissing her and sleeping with her, and you feel bad that even after knowing you shouldn't; that you can't, you still want her and you want to do all of those things again and again.
Stepping out, you brush your teeth and get dressed, trying to figure out how you are going to approach the situation when she wakes up.
Just be cool, be cordial, and let her leave. You didn't do anything wrong. You just let her stay. You couldn't let her drive home after all.
You may have cuddled with her but... that's all.
You open the door to return to the room and you see that she is stirring around. She's awake.
You stay by the door, to maintain some distance between the two of you. The opposite of what your body is telling you to do. You want to go to her, push the hair out of her face, ask her how she feels...just... take care of her. But you know you can't, so you have to do the exact opposite.
"Morning. How are you feeling?" you ask. A genuine question considering how the night played out.
"I've seen better days." she giggles. "Thank you for leaving me the meds and water, I needed that."
