Chapter Six:

I stared at the screen unable to move. Why is he calling me? I mean I’ve barley said more than a sentence to him since we broke up. “Who’s calling you?” Ashyln asked peering over my shoulder. All I did was move my head to the side so she could see. “No way, he’s calling you! What are you doing? Answer it!!!” I sighed and when to hit the green talk button, but it was too late. ‘Missed call from Niall Horan.’ lite up the screen. I tossed my phone onto her bed making it bonce. “Are you mad? Why didn’t you answer it? You heard what he said when I was talking to him. Maybe he wants to get back with you or at least apologize.” “I don’t know. As soon as I saw his name on the screen, my mind scrambled and my heart was racing. I wanted to answer but I couldn’t.” “Well Is, I don’t think he is calling you back anytime soon. You blew it.” Next thing I know my phone ‘bleeps’. I pick it up and see: ‘One new voicemail’ I look at Ashlyn. “What is it?” I half smiled. “He left me a voicemail.” She mouth hung open as she squealed. “Listen to it!!!” I called my own number and typed in my passcode. “Put it on speaker phone.” She told me trying to listen through the phone. I press the speaker button and the automated voice starts to speak. “One new voicemail received April 5th 2013 at 11:36pm” I braced myself for what I was about to hear. “Hey Izzy, its Niall.” He paused as if he was trying to piece his words together. “Look, I know it was Ashlyn who called me and I know you are with her. So, I know you know the truth.” I looked at her and she looked like a deer in headlights. “And, I wasn’t lying when I said I still love you.” There was another pause. “Just please call me back or at least text me to let me know I at least have half a chance to even be in your life. Not only were you my girlfriend, you were my best friend and I would at least like to get that back. Just please, text or call me. Bye.” “To erase press-“I stopped the annoying robot sounding voice off by ending the call. “How did he know it was me? How did he know you were here? That’s a little weird.” I smiled and looked at her. “Did you forget? You and Niall were good friends, he knows your voice and you and are like glued at the hip and have been since we were three. So, both are kind of a given.” She nodded in agreement and giggled. But then her face turned serious. “Are you going to call him back?” I shook my head. “I would be able to talk without crying.” “Are you at least going to text him? I mean you can at least try to be friends with him again. Right?” “I guess. He is right, we were best friends and I would like to at least have that back too.” She grabbed my arm and shook it. “Well, text him!!!!” “Alright, Alright. I’ll text him.” “You go girl.” She tried to speak in an urban accent. I laughed. “No, never again, just stop.” She pouted. “I thought I did a pretty good job.” I patted her head. “Whatever helps you sleep at night dear.” She batted my hand away and plopped down on her bed. I pull my phone out and found his number. I took a deep breath as I typed the message. “Hey, Niall I miss our friendship too. And I would like to have it back. But, I don’t think I can trust you as boyfriend again. At least not for a little while.” I clicked ‘Send’ and put my phone in my back pocket. “I’m hungry.” I stated. Ashlyn laughed. “Then get your lazy arse up and get food. You know where the kitchen is.” “But, it’s your house.” She laughed again. “Please, if you ask mom to move in, she would let you in a heartbeat. You’ve coming here since you were too little to reach the cookie jar. Go, get your own food.” I huffed and smacked the floor. “Fine, I will.” “Oh, yeah while you’re in there, get me a coke and one of my Spiderman cookies.” I stuck my tongue out at her and walked towards the kitchen. Ashlyn’s mom was out of town on business, so she had the whole house to herself. More like we had the whole house to ourselves. I mean, we work at the same place; same shifts and we go to the same school. Plus, we wear the same size, so I pretty much never have to go home. Well, if it wasn’t for my mom I wouldn’t. She likes it if I come home every now and again. I flip on the light and my phone goes off. It’s Niall, and wrote a huge paragraph. “Alright, I understand that. I’m sorry for everything I really am. I was Zayn who told the whole school that dumb rumor.” I knew it! That kid has never liked me and I’ve never liked him. “I did try to tell everyone it wasn’t true but they wouldn’t listen. I never wanted to hurt you. Can you please forgive me? And can we please hang out tomorrow? I really need to talk to you face-to-face and Alone. Oh yeah, you played great today. Good luck with the scholarship.” I smiled at his message. I thought for a minute and replied. “I forgive and believe you. But, unless you want to come to Ashlyn’s house to get me I can’t hang out tomorrow. My car is at my house and I’m here. And thank you same to you. You all had a great season.” I slid my phone in my back pocket as I reached for the cookies. I swear Ashyln and her obsession with Spiderman is a little strange. I mean, she even has Spiderman cookies. She must have gotten them from the bakery Harry works at. That boy is head over heels for Ashlyn, it’s the same thing for her, and they can’t enough of each other. I reach in the fridge and grab me a Dr.Pepper and Ashlyn her Coke and walk back down the hallway. My phone made my pocket vibrate and I sighed. I walk in the room and hand her the cookie and Coke. “Thanks dear!” She practically screamed. “You’re welcome.” I mumbled turning my attention to my phone. “Does she still live in the same house? If so I will come and get you. We can go get lunch or something.” “Who ya textin’?” Ashlyn asked in a nosy voice. “Who do you think?” I replied rolling my eyes. Her eyes lit up. “Niall? What’s he saying?!” I laughed at her jumping around out of excitement. “He wants to hang out tomorrow. But, I don’t know.” “Just do it. What do you have to lose?” I sighed knowing she was right. I want to know how he is, what he has been up too. “Yes, she still lives in the same place. Is 2:30 okay?” He replied almost instantly. “Yes, 2:30 is perfect. See you then Izzy.” “I’m going to bed” I mumbled crawling under the blanket. “Goodnight.” As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.

“Are you ready?” Ashlyn smiled at me. “I think so. I can’t believe I’m about to do this.” I look down at the beautiful white and purple roses in my shaky hands. I took a deep breath. “You can do this Isabella. I know you can.” She reassured me. I nod and she pokes her head through the door and points the piano man. He starts the play the classic song as she pushes the big doors open. First Mesha walks out, then Ashlyn, and then it’s my turn. I turn the corner and see him standing there, beautiful as ever. His smile lights up the room as I walk in. I keep my eyes on him as I slowly walk down the aisle, long dress flowing behind me. As I reach him, his hand is stretched out for mine. I take it as he guides me to stand next to him. I’m so lost in his eyes I barley am able to think as the minister asked me. “Do you Isabella Hampton take Niall Horan to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, for better or worse.” I smiled. “I do.” He turned to Niall. “And do you Niall Horan take Isabella Hampton to be your lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold, for better or worse.” He smiled hi brilliant smile. “I do.” The minister smiled. “I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may now kiss the bride." We both leaned in and our lips an inch apart. When he started shaking me, “Isabella! Isabella! Wake up!”

I open my eyes to see Ashlyn shaking me in the sun filled room. “Wake up!!!!” I pushed her off of me. “What? I’m up. I’m awake! What do you want?” “Rawr! Someone is cranky.” I shook my head, “Sorry, you just woke me up from a really good dream.” “What was it about?” I blushed. “Me and a person.” “Awwee did Izzy have a dream about Nialler?” “Shut it. What time is it?” I was desperately trying to change the subject. “That’s why I woke you up. It’s 1:30. I figured you would want to get ready for your ‘date’.” She used finger quotes when she said the word date. “It’s not a date. We are just trying to get out friendship back.” “Sureee.” I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. “I’m burrowing your purple shirt. Is that okay?” She just shrugged and walked into the bathroom. I changed into her purple flowy shirt, my white skinny jeans, and purple Converses. I walked over to the bathroom door and pounded my fist against it attempting to scare her. I hear a shriek from the other side, mission accomplished. I smiled to myself as she walked out of the bathroom. “Bitch.” She muttered thinking I didn’t hear. “I know.” I said cheerfully. I looked in the mirror and decided to leave my wavy, long, brown hair flow naturally behind me; while being pinned back by a head band. I don’t wear makeup so I didn’t bother. I look at the clock, wow 2:20 already. Next thing I know I hear a knock on the door. “See you later Ashlyn.” I gave her a hug. “Thank you.” She looked confused. “For what?” “For calling him. Thank you.” Her smile beamed, “No problem, anytime dear.” “Bye!” she called as I walked towards the door. I open the door to find a smiling Niall. “Hey Izzy, ready to go?”
