“Well, I thought we could just go to the park and hangout.” I told her and she nodded. “Sounds fun!” She exclaimed. “Let's go!” I raised my eyebrow “What's the rush?” “Nothing, I'm just really hyper.” Her cheeks flushed. I laughed at how cute she was. “What? Why are you laughing?” I thought for a minute. I can't tell her why I'm really laughing, she might get creeped out. “Um, nothing I just thought of a funny joke a friend of mine told me the other day.” She looked puzzled. “What's the joke?” She pressed. Quick Niall think on your feet. “Uh, How do you wake up Lady Gaga?” “How?” “Pok-her-face” She giggled. “Niall you're so weird.” “I thought it was funny.” I mumbled. And when she looked away I let a sigh of relief. “Okay, to the Nialler-moblie!” I semi shouted. She laughed again and sprung up. “Away!” She said with one hand in a fist on her hip and the other in the air. We both ran to my car and I got there a second before she did. “Ha ha, I beat you.” I told her while sticking my tongue out. She stuck hers out back at me “Only by like a second.” She sounded a little offended. “I still won.” “It wasn't a race!” She exclaimed while stomping her foot. “Whatever helps you sleep at night.” I chuckled while opening her door for her. “You're mean.” She stuck her tongue out again. I did it back and closed her door. I tried to be a ninja and slide across the hood of the car only for it to be an epic fail. I could hear Isabella dieing of laughter from inside the car. I can feel my cheeks turning red as I stood up and brushed it off. I got in the car and she was still laughing. “Epic fail!!” She shouted in my face. “Yea, yea. It wasn't that funny.” She nodded her head. “Oh yes it was. That was like the funniest thing ever. I don't care who you are.” My cheeks are still red as I pull out of the café parking lot. Her laughing slowed down after about five minutes. “Oh come on, Was it really that funny?” I asked. “Yes, actually it kind of was. Plus, I needed a good laugh. Haven't had one in awhile.” I was going to ask her what she meant by that but she seemed bothered by it. We reach the park and she runs out of the car like a little kid. I go in the trunk and pull out a blanket and a bag of things I brought with us to use. I spread the blanket on the ground while she swinging. “Niall come push me!” She yelled across the park. “Be right there.” I yelled back. I love how she isn't afraid to act like a little kid, I think it's absolutely adorable. I run over to her and start to push her on the swing. She was giggling like a seven year old the whole time. Once I was done pushing her I sat down in the swing next to her and slowing swung back and forth. Once she slowed down we sat silent for a few moments. “So, how's your mum and dad?” I asked her. “Well mum is fine. She asks about you all the time.” I smiled at that, I've always liked her mum. “And my dad left me and mum two months ago. He left a note saying that we treat him like dirt and that he has cheating on mum for the past 5 months. At first mum was upset but she got over it.” “I'm so sorry Izzy. I didn't know.” “I'm fine with it. I can't stand him. I haven't talked to him since he left and I don't plan to. Everything he left we threw out in the rain and told him if he doesn't get it in 24 hours we are burning it all. No one cheats on my mum.” I feel so bad for her. I mean first he treats her like dirt then her mom. Neither of them deserve that at all. “Well, tell your mum I said I'm sorry and that she will find better. She doesn't deserve that. Neither do you.” She nodded. “Hey you want to go sit on the blanket and eat the cookies and stuff I brought?” I asked wanting to make her feel better. “Yea, sure.” The tone of her voice sounded like she was in another world. We make our way over to the blanket and sit down. “What about you? How's your mum?” “Pretty good. Her and Mesha's dad just got married and are on their honeymoon right now. They are going to be gone for a couple weeks.” “Well, I'm happy for them both.” I smiled. “Me too. I'm glad she is finally happy.” I was looking at her but she was avoiding my gaze. “Isabella?” I questioned. She looked at me. Our faces were about two inches apart. “I'm sorry.” She shook her head. “I told you mum is fine and so am I.” “Not about that.” She looked confused. “Then what do you mean than?” She asked. “About us, about breaking your heart, about everything. I never wanted to hurt you, I swear.” We stared into each others eyes. “I forgive you.” She whispered. We were leaning in our lips about to meet, but she pulled away. “I have to go.” She got up and started to run away. “Wait at least let me drive you!” I yelled after her, but she was gone. Way to screw it all up Niall, good going. I shake my head and pack up everything. I try to call her only to have her phone go straight to voice-mail. I left a quick message. “Isabella, can we talk about this please?” I hang up and walk over to the car, I place everything in the trunk slamming it shut. I slid into the car and start it. “Damn it! I'm so stupid!” Why can't we go back to normal, before everyone had to get involved.
~ ~ Flashback ~ ~
“Where are we going Niall?” Isabella giggled. “I told you it's a surprise.” She sighed, “You know this surprise and blindfold thing is really getting annoying right?” I got real close to her ear and whispered, “But, It always turns out good. Does it not?” She shivered and nodded as we walked up to the beach. I had set up a whole evening for us. I had two beach blankets ready on the beach, a table for two that Harry helped me with, and a specially made necklace that I was going to give to her after we ate. We walk up to the place I had set up and I told her to take off the blindfold. I smiled when she gasped until I realized, it wasn't out of amazement. I look to see the blankets soaked by the waves and the table tipped over from win, the food was ruined and had sand everywhere. “Shit.” I cursed under my breath. “Izzy, this is not what I planned I swear. I don't know what happened. I had this all planned out for our 1 year anniversary. And I-I I'm sorry.” I lowered my head and reached in my pocket for the necklace. She touched my cheek, “Niall, look at me. It's okay, all that matters is I'm here with you. That's the best thing I could ask for.” I smiled, “Really? Or are you just saying that because our date got totally ruined. I told Harry we should have moved everything up farther and got a stronger table.” She laughed, “Really, it's fine.” She kissed my cheek. “Well, there is one thing that didn't get ruined.” She looked puzzled. “And what might that be?” I pulled out the necklace and opened the box. She gasped, this time in pure shock. “Niall, it's beautiful.” It was a white gold necklace with two rings attached together. One said Niall the other Isabella, and where they intertwined it said together forever. She turned around and lifted up her long hair for me to place it around her neck. Once on she turned around, “I got you something too.” Curiosity struck as she walked over to her purse. “Here.” She handed me a box that was wrapped with a green bow. I open it to find a picture frame with a piece of football in it and for pictures of us together around it. One from the day we met, you look at the picture and it seems we've know each other for ages. Another from our first day of 5th grade. Another from our first date (this time last year) And one from just a couple days ago. And on the football it said Nialler and Izzy, with a heart. “That is the football we played with together the first day we meet.” She told me. I smiled, “I love this, thank you.” “You're welcome and thank you for everything.” “What do you mean?” I asked. She stepped closer to me. “Thank you for the necklace, thank you for trying with this date. And thank you for finally getting the balls to ask my out a year ago.” I chuckled at her comment. “You are more than welcome. Happy one year anniversary.” She smiled, “Happy one year anniversary.”
