"Carl!" A voice on the phone called my name. It was Ralph. He said it was his birthday today, and he invited me to come to a party on Friday after classes.

"What's up?" I replied as I ran my hand through my hair. I was sitting on the edge of my bed, exhausted cause of schoolwork... I'm also tired of the application I just did.

"I'm expecting you to come to my party. I've invited our other friends too." Ralph mumbled on the other side of the call. "It's tomorrow. Please come." I let out a sharp exhale before replying, "Yeah. Of course." I can hear his sigh of relief after I replied. "See you there!" He said before hanging up. I placed my phone down on the side table beside my bed.

I saw Daniel walk into the room. His hair was a bit wet since he just finished showering. "Did Ralph invite you too?" I asked out of curiosity and maybe cause I just wanna start a conversation with Daniel.

"Yep. I mean, I guess I consider him my friend." Daniel nodded as he spoke. He sat on his bed before opening his phone.

I fixed my position on my bed before closing the lights.

"Night..."

The next day, I went to the university, again.. But at least I get to the party later and the weekend is coming. I sighed as I grabbed a quick breakfast with some of my friends in a local café. We greeted him happy birthday before we continued with our breakfast.

"Are you sure you're going to finish that..?" Ramiro mumbled as he spoke to Ralph who was eating 3 pieces of pancakes.

"Yeah! Duh." Ralph replied with a soft giggle, making my cheeks have a pinkish tint. I have to admit, it was a bit adorable.

I took my coffee and looked at my schedule. I took a sip as I glanced at my friends. Ramiro was eating a hotdog while looking at his phone while Daniel was drinking his coffee as he stared at his laptop.

"So... Your party.. is in a club? And you rented the club just for that?" I asked Ralph before looking up at him.

"Yep." Ralph smiled cheekily at me before eating another spoonful of pancakes. "I rented it out, after all, my father wanted it. Even though I told him not to.." Ralph sighed before chuckling.

"Who's coming?" Ramiro muttered as he looked at him.

"Some of my other friends.. a few of my cousins.. and my brother and his friends.." My ears perked up when he said "My brother and his friends". "I guess that's all." Ralph said before licking his lips covered in syrup, and finishing his pancakes.

"We should go." Daniel said as he stood up and adjusted his glasses. The other three, including me, stood up in unison before we walked out of the restaurant. We headed to the university quickly and walked through the hallways.

"See you later, ya'll." I said and they also greeted me goodbye before going into my classroom alone. Good thing the professor wasn't here yet. I sat on a vacant seat and at the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar face.
