Grace Through It All (Book 2)

Uh oh

*Joey POV*
I didn't get much sleep last night because I was awake with Cynthia almost all night. I get up and go to Cynthia's room. She still has a slight fever. I pick her up and get her dressed. I go downstairs put her in the car then I drive to the doctors. I get there and I carry Cynthia in. Fifteen minutes later she gets called back. She still hasn't woken up yet so I have to wake her up. I get back to the room and wake her up. She starts crying really loud.
"Is there anything you can do" The doctor asks
"I've tried singing, rocking her, giving her food, changing her, nothing works" I say
The doctor checks a few things.
"She has strep throat. I'd give her orange juice and I'll give you a prescription for an antibiotic." The doctor says
I thank him and leave. I stop at the pharmacy real quick and grab the medicine then go back to the car. I get home and give Cynthia the medicine and put some orange juice in her cup then carry her up to her room. Once she's finally asleep I text the guys.
J-finally got home from taking Cynthia to the doctors. Need help decorating the room for the baby
Ca-I'll be there soon how is Cynthia
A-coming
Ch-I'll be there. Never knew she was sick
J-of course you didn't. She has strep throat
Ca-that's sad
I put my phone away and wait for the guys. They finally get here.
"Ok so we need to go to lowes and get a special chalk type paint and butterfly wall stickers" I say
"How about you and Caleb do that. Chad and I can stay here." Alan says
"Perfect" I say
Caleb and I go to the car and get in. I let Caleb drive because I have a feeling I could fall asleep at any point.
*Chad POV*
Alan and I turn on the tv and start watching Frozen when I hear crying. I go upstairs to Cynthia's room and pick her up.
"Uncle Chad" she says
"Yes love bug it's me" I say
She grabs onto my finger. I go downstairs with her and sit back down. I sing softly and she falls back asleep.
"Nice job Chad" Alan says
"Alan you do realize I do this with Adele all the time" I say
"I know but its Joey's kid so you never know how she'd react to you" he says
"True very true" I say
Moments later Caleb and Joey return. Everyone gets to work and I stand in the room holding Cynthia.
"Chad I can hold Cynthia" Joey says
"Yeah and I can paint. The thing is I don't want to" I say
"Well I need to go give her her medicine and then I'm going to fall asleep because I was up all night with her" Joey says
"Or you could fall asleep, I could give her her medicine, and hold her" I say
"Sure go for it" he says
Joe leaves and goes to his room and I go to the kitchen. I give Cynthia her medicine then put her in the swing. I go back upstairs and help the other two finish up. Once we're done we go downstairs. 2 hours later Grace and the boys come through the front door.
"Hey guys wheres Joe" she asks
"Apparently he was up all night with Cynthia so he's sleeping" I say
*Grace POV*
"Oh ok. Do you guys know what's up with Cynthia" I ask
"She has strep throat" Caleb says
"Alright. Boys stay down here with your uncles" I say
"Yes mommy" they say
I go upstairs and lay down next to Joe. He rolls over and hits my forehead by accident.
"Sorry princess" he says
"It's fine. So Joe I want some chocolate chip cookies sundaes" I say
"Really Grace" he asks
"Yeah" I say
"Can you have one of the guys get it because I literally could fall asleep standing up at this point" he says
"I was going to go with and drive but I don't want you to fall asleep in the store. I bet I could have Alan or Chad take me" I say
"Yeah ok bye" he say
"Sleep well Joe" I say
I go downstairs and walk over to Alan.
"Al can you go to the store with me" I ask
"Sure lets go" he says
"You tow got these three" I ask
"Yep" Caleb says
Alan and I head to his van and get in. He drives to the store. When we get there I grab a small cart then we go in.
"So what are you getting" he asks
"Well I'm craving chocolate chip cookies sundaes" I say
"Why do you have to crave the good stuff? all Brycie ever craved was pretzels, pickles, and pizza" he says
"I don't know" I say
We get the stuff then head back. We get there and go inside. We find all four of the kids arguing.
"What are you four arguing about" I ask
"Uncle Caleb is trying to make me learn" Kyle pouts
"Uncle Chad is making fun of Dada" Joey says
"Guys would one of you like to explain" Alan asks
"Ok so Joey and Kyle were fighting over something and I asked what's wrong and Kyle said he was gonna play with somethin when Joey takeded it from him. Caleb got annoyed with the wrong grammar and started correcting him" Chad says
"Kyle and Joey asked where Joe was and Chad said that the shrimp was sleeping. Then Joey said that Joe is not a shrimp but his father. Chad then said that Joey was shrimp jr. and that made Joey get mad. He was going to hit Chad but Chad stopped him. So Chad didn't call Joe a shrimp anymore but a dork and Joey started screaming and yelling that his father wasn't a dork or a shrimp" Caleb says
"And this is why we don't leave you two in charge" Alan says
I put the stuff away then go upstairs. Joe is awake but looks half asleep still.
"Joe you fully awake there" I ask
"Yeah" he says
"Ok just making sure" I say
"Grace I had a really weird dream" he says
"What was it about" I ask
"So all of us including the guys and their wives and kids were at the beach on Vacation. I was at the beach and fell asleep. I had a dream at the beach that Chad was going to do something to me but then I didn't finish the rest of that dream because I woke up to people shouting. When I woke up you were caught in a rip current and a big wave was coming. Of course I didn't know what to do so the life guard went out and saved you. When you came back you had so much water in your laughs that you were unconscious for a little bit. You were taken to the hospital and I woke up before I saw anything else" he says
"Yeah that's a little weird and scary. What's with the Chad part" I say
"No clue but I feel like it's a Vision from God. Something will happen to you and I won't know what to do. Someone helps a little then it gets worse. The rest of it is a mystery." He says
"Still it doesn't explain the Chad part" I say
"I think Chad was probably going to do something to me in real life" he says
"Ok well we need to hope for the best" I say
"Yeah you're right" he says
We go downstairs where Caleb and Chad are still fighting with the boys.
"Alan are you not going to do something" Joey asks
"No I tried but your sons are stubborn" he says
"They get it from Grace mostly" Joey says
*Joey POV*
"Hey princess how did you sleep" Chad asks
"My dads not a princess" Jojo says
"Bubba I got this go with your brother and play in the playroom" I say
He gets up and him and Kyle go to the playroom.
"Well hello queen and I slept fine. By any chance do you know why I had a dream of the queen trying to kill the princess" I ask
"Why of course but maybe you should ask the joker and the sorcerer" Chad says
"Well I already tried asking the prince but he didn't know what to say" I say
"Hmm well maybe the queen was annoyed with two little village boys and was seeking a way to get out her anger" Chad says
"Thank you ma'am I mean you majesty" I say
"No problem princess" Chad says
"That was wonderful" Alan says
"Thank you sorcerer" Chad says
"That was great improve. You two should start an improve business" Caleb says
"Why thank you Joker" I say
"That was creepy" Grace says
"Whatever prince" Chad and I say
We talk about other stuff then the guys leave. We eat dinner then put the boys to bed.
"Grace Cynthia should be better soon" I say
"Ok well I want to hear what you think" Grace say
"Ok" I say confused
"So once we have the new baby I'm probably going to leave anthem lights so I can be home with the kids while they're younger. Later on I might become a bible teacher or something at a school" she says
"I think it's a wonderful idea" I say
"Great" she says
We watch a few movies them Cynthia starts to cry. I go to the kitchen and pour some Cheerios into a bowl. I go over to the swing and sit on the floor. I give her the Cheerios and lush the swing some. Once she's done eating she falls back asleep.
"Princess I'm ping to sleep down here" I say
"Ok I'm going to bed" she says
She heads upstairs and I drift off to sleep.

Around 2am I hear a banging noise. I grab Cynthia out of the swing and go to the bathroom. I lock the door. I hear thee noise. I open the door slightly and see someone putting stuff on bags. I set Cynthia down in the ground and oar the door. I Hoover to the person and punch him. He punches me back and we do this for a while. Finally there's the sound of sirens. The guy punches me again and he runs out without anything. I hear people coming in then everything goes black.
