“Sis, do you want to know how she made things difficult for your friend that day?” isaac asked again.
“

How… how did she make things difficult?” As she recalled the moment when Lexi sacrificed herself for her. Claires heart felt as if it had been clogged.

“Why don’t we let Miss mayer demonstrate it for us?” isaac spoke as if he was chit-chatting casually. He got up, walked to the side of the bed, and then bent down and helped claire put on a pair of shoes.

His movements were gentle and careful, and he even bent his knees and squatted down, holding her foot in his palm.

Sandra felt wave after wave of shock. The fact that isaac  called claire “Sis” was already dramatic enough, and now he was helping her to put on shoes.

Just what kind of charm did claire have for isaac to protect her like this?

What alarmed her more was that isaac  had actually asked her to demonstrate what she had done. How was she going to demonstrate it again?

While sandra was thinking claire had put on her shoes, and isaac had carried her over to the sofa. Then he said to sandra, “Let’s get started.”

“Start? Start what?” sandras face was blank. Nathan who followed her into the ward, handed her a tissue and said gently, “Miss mayer please clean Miss gray’s shoes. Just like the day when Lexi cleaned yours.”

Sandra face changed. “What did you say? You want me to wipe her shoes?”

“This is what Mr. Landford wants,” nathan said with a calm face.

Sandra ground her teeth and glared hatefully at claire. How could she possibly clean the shoes of someone she despised?

She did not know how claire had managed to charm isaac.

“Mr. Landford, this woman is just a street sweeper, and she is very good at seducing men. When she was with my brother, she played a lot of tricks. Otherwise, my brother would never have fallen in love with a woman from an ordinary family background! Mr. Landford please don’t be fooled by her!”

Sandra kept trying to smear claire with all her might.

Isaac casually fiddled with claires fingers and said faintly, “What’s wrong with wiping shoes for a street sweeper? Even if it was the mayor’s daughter, she would still have to do it!”

Sandra was speechless. Obviously, she couldn’t be compared to the mayor’s daughter.

“Miss mayer, please hurry up. Mr. Landford doesn’t have much patience.” nathan urged, “If runs out of patience, you won’t just be wiping shoes.”

Sandra reluctantly bit her lips. However, no matter how unwilling she was, she could only walk towards claire one step at a time. Then, she bent down and began to wipe her already cleaned shoes with a tissue.

Claire looked at sandra with daze. She never thought that such a scene would happen. But, did Lexi have to go through this as well?
At that time, what would she be feeling?

Claire felt sorry for her good friend. At the same time, she also seemed to vaguely understand why isaac had called sandra over and then made her act this scene.

He wanted to tell her that he could easily do whatever he wanted. Even those who were arrogant and despised her, as long as he commanded, they could only kneel down and obediently wipe her shoes.

Sandra worked for a while and said, “Mr. Landford, this should be enough, right?”

Isaac raised his lips into a smile. “Not yet. How can this be enough?”

At this moment nathan stepped forward and said to sandra  “Miss mayer, sorry if I offend you.” Then, he calmly stepped on the back of her hand.

Sandra suddenly cried out in pain, “Mr. landford what are you doing?”

“He’s just doing what you had done to Lexi that night. Did you not?” isaac asked back.

Sandra , of course, had done this, so now she couldn’t even reply.

At this moment isaac  spoke to claire in a gentle voice, “Sis, didn’t you say Lexi is very important to you? Then I will help you vent the anger for her, are you satisfied?”

His appearance seemed to be pure as if he was simply trying to please her.

As he spoke, his hands were still playing with her left hand,

pushing his fingers into hers, and then slowly clasping the back of her hand… then their fingers interlocked.

Clair3 felt that her left hand was completely stiff in his grasp.

It was burning hot, and she wanted to pull away.

However, as if she had lost control of her own body, she couldn’t move her hand at all.

She had never seen isaac acting this way. He could do such a thing while talking and laughing. But maybe this was the real him. What she had seen in the past was just an act.

Sandra felt a heart-wrenching pain on the back of her hand. If he continued to step on it like this, her hand might end up the same as her foot.

“Mr. Landford, my… my hand is going to break. Mr. Landford, please…please let me go.” sandra was in so much pain that she was weeping for mercy. She had completely lost her usual composure.

However, isaac did not even bother to look at sabdra. He just said to claire“Sis, what do you think? Is it enough?”

At this point, no matter how much she resented claire, sandra could only beg her for mercy.

“claire, I… I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have treated your friend like that. I… I can apologize to your friend. Please, spare me.”

Claire looked at sandra, who was crying bitterly at this moment. She knew very well that she was begging for mercy because of isaac not because of her.

Seeing the state that sandra was in, she didn’t have any sympathy for her at all. When she thought about how Lexi had been treated like this, she hated her even more, and she blamed herself as well.

She would rather accept the humiliation herself instead of making Lexi suffer.

Lexi had already sacrificed so much for her. Ever since claire was released from prison, she hadn’t been able to make it up to Lexi even though she had suffered such hardships because of her.

“Then, I want you to apologize to Lexi  in front of everyone who witnessed the scene that day. You will also be responsible for paying the medical bills, work compensation, and so on, claire said.
Sandra nodded and agreed without hesitation. Apologies and compensations were such a small price to pay for not breaking her hand.

Nathan removed his foot. Sandra held the hand that had been stepped on, and she was in so much pain that she couldn’t even hold her walking stick.

Isaac then ordered nathan “Tell lewis to come in and take his sister away.”

“yes,” nathan answered and retrieved lewis from outside the ward.
