I was so focused on trying to find something good within you,
I forgot to see the red flags.
I thought that I always knew what to do,
But I guess I just drove myself apart,
With all of the longing.
With so much of pain,
With no understanding,
We fell away.

"us" had never felt so fake,
It felt like it took years to make,
Make believe, that is.
