-Cody's POV-
When I walked out of the cabin in the morning after my huge freak-out last night, I got many weird glares. Noah didn't care though, he stayed with me like he was glued to my side. Trent and Justin ran up to us to speak to us.
"You guys could be a power couple!" Justin exclaimed, clapping his hands. I rolled my eyes and walked past him, even though I appreciated his..comment..I wasn't in the mood for it at the moment.
Chris gathered us around the campfire to talk about another challenge.
"You must take turns to be dunk into freezing cold water and grab a letter in a jar, there is a clue on each letter on where to find a key. The first team to manage to unlock this chest will have invincibility." Chris pointed to a chest behind him, he then turned to look at large glass tanks with keys at the bottom and full of water.
"The twist is, you will be fully clothed. No swimming outfits, so, good luck with that." Chris chuckled as he walked over to Chef and stood next to him. He signalled for us to start.
Sierra went first, she got dunked into the water and grabbed one of the jars successfully, when she came out she was DRENCHED. it was pretty funny. Gwen mentioned that maybe we should get all of the jars first and then separate.
One by one, we all got dunked, till it was my turn. I grabbed a jar but when I came out I looked like I had crawled out of the sewers, when we finally had all the jars, we decided to go and look for the keys. Noah and I ended up walking together. Although it was awkward after last night, he didn't mind. He decided to talk to me anyways.
Around an hour later, I found my key, yet Noah didn't find his. We decided to keep on walking in search for his key.
-Noah's POV-
I stayed with Cody and we searched for my key, till I found it behind a bush. I grabbed it, but I found a small statue with Chris' face on it, I looked at Cody who was smiling, and then back at the statue, I grabbed it and showed it to him.
"Hey, isn't that the invincibility statue thing?" He gasped, I guess it was. I slid it into my pocket and carried on walking with the key in my hand, gripped tightly.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is, but we should keep it a secret." He grunted and nodded in agreement, we spoke till we eventually ended up back at the camp. We both walked up to the chest and tested our keys, but they didn't work. We looked around, and the only person missing from the other team was Heather.
She strutted over to the chest, looking at everybody else before she slipped the key in. Of course, the chest opened, so, we lost.
-Cody's POV-
Our team ended up losing, so we talked about who to vote. Sadly, we had decided on Bridgette since she said she wanted to go back home anyways, I couldn't blame her.
Bridgette left us that night, it was genuinely pretty sad since she was so kind. Geoff was very upset over her leaving, but atleast he knew that she would be taking care of the house. Being completely honest, I voted Sierra. She got on my nerves, and I don't know why nobody else did.
I couldn't sleep again, like usual, so I went outside and sat on the benches surrounding the campfire, which wasn't lit at the moment. Being by yourself at night, especially when your outside, really makes you think about stuff.
I looked to my side to see Noah coming out of the cabin, he sat next to me. Im pretty sure he had just woken up because of his scruffy hair. I stared at the ground in silence.
"I've had enough of this, what even is the point of it? I don't want to be here anymore, I just want to go back to my shitty apartment and wake up to the molding walls every morning. I know it sounds strange, but I've gotten used to it." I mentioned, looking up at Noah, who nodded in agreement with each word.
"I know, I hate it here too. I wish I could go back to stamping books endlessly, I got used to that as well." We were both miserable in this moment, so we tried to comfort eachother. I'm surprised Noah still liked me after what happened last night, it's one of the reasons I want to leave.
-Noah's POV-
He seemed pretty upset, but I would be if I was him. I also missed home. I looked back down at him, he had his head in his hands. I decided to light the fire and sit back down next to him. He put his hands back down on the bench, staring at the fire with tear-stained eyes, I felt horrible for him.
I reached for his hand, our fingers intertwined. We both stared into the fire for what felt like eternity without a word, this moment was beautiful to me. I wanted it to last forever, just me and Cody.
"Do you think I'll move out of those apartments? I want an actual house and a job, I've had enough of being useless, and I don't think it's going to get better." I looked at him as he said this, he was still staring into the fire and spilling his thoughts.
"Shit happens, and you just have to try your hardest to carry on." I turned to look back at the fire.
