"Was it  chiseled with an ancient stone? Did wooden butterflies fly off in the chaos of the strike? Do they twist and snap as they glide in the fiery wind?"

"Is the dark door connected to a thin wire connected to a wheel? Like a bone connected to a muscle through a tendon?"

"Does the bird leap out the shaft from its feet or is it dragged out on a plank like a pirate. Why does the sound spiral in and out?"  "

The whole entire board is staring at Ted, who is staring at the old wooden cuckoo-clock clock above the boss's chair.

The boss was unfazed.

"As I was saying……"

Our stocks have collapsed since we posted that advertisement the Dylan Mulvan–

"What do you think about the wooden words the bird shouts?" Ted interrupts.

The boss stares at him in concern, but the dam of disappointment breaks with a sigh.
