When me and Lee got to the combine, the atmosphere felt so different since there was a lot of talented players here but we knew if we wanted a shot to get drafted, this is where it would be

"Hey Lee, how you feeling" I say stretching
"I feel nervous right now because this is where all of our hard work goes before the real work starts" Lee says
"I know I'm nervous being here but we got to stay confident" I say
"There's that captain side of you" Lee laughs
"Hey it's a habit it's not my fault I developed that" I laugh
"Alright then Captain but how are you and Minji" He asks
"We're doing good, she's been busy with promotions and events but we always manage to spend quality time" I say
"I'm surprised you managed it so well with her being an idol" he says
"I know but we did it and since we both knew what signed up for when we began dating" I say lacing up my shoes
"Hey remember to wear that ankle brace during the open runs, you might need it" Lee says lacing his shoes up
"You're right but today is the vertical jump and stuff" I say

I mean just being there was a blessing because I never thought I'd be here but after they took our physical measurements, it was time for the real thing

"Y/n Pham, you're up" the instructor calls my name
"Alright Lee, let's do our best for these next few days" I say dapping Lee up
"You know it Cap" Lee says dapping me up
"Alright standing vertical jump, Y/n Pham, lets go" the instructor says
"Whew okay here we go" I say getting ready
"Alright whenever you're ready" the instructor says
"Alright then here I go" I say jumping
"33.50 inches" the instructor says
After that jump, every NBA coach wrote down and took notes, and now it was time to move on to the running vertical jump
"Alright next up, Y/n Pham, running vertical jump" the instructor says
"Yes sir" I respond wiping the bottoms of my shoes
"Alright whenever you're ready" he says
"Alright" I say running and jumping
"39.00 inches" he says
During the first day of the combine, I did pretty good during the remaining exercises and made a good impression on the coaches

"I wonder if she's up right now" I say pulling out my phone
"Are you gonna call her or something because I can step out" Lee says
