Mabilis akong natapos sa pamimili ng mga damit, swimsuit, flip-flops, at iba pa, dahil hindi naman kami pareho nakaready.
Sumasakit na kasi yung paa ni Freya dahil sa taas ng takong niya kanina, kaya ako nalang ang namili ng gamit namin, and other toiletries sa maliit na mall sa mismong katabi ng hotel.
Hindi ako nag-aksaya ng oras at bumalik agad ako sa suite namin. Naabutan ko siyang nakahawak sa phone habang nag scroll.
"Hey! Magbihis ka na, we're going free diving." Alam kong mahilig siya sa free diving, naikwento na niya iyon, at lagi kong nakikita dati sa mga post niya sa IG.
Her head lifted quickly, a smile lighting up her face as soon as she saw me. I couldn't help but smile back in response. I know, these 24 hours can never compensate for all the losses and sacrifices she's endured.
She had to part from her grieving mother after losing her sister, forced to move on and 'marry' a man she never loved. She had to carry the weight of her studies with a heart shattered into pieces. Perhaps the pain I felt was just a fraction of what she endured, tenfold or more.
This woman is the epitome of bravery. She deserves every ounce of happiness the world can offer. If I only have these 24 hours to bring happiness into her life, then I'll strive to make each moment the happiest for her.
Tumayo ito at kinuha ang mga pinamili ko.
"Thank you!" ngumiti ito na halos mawala ang mata, kaya naman eto na naman ako, hinayaang matulala sa ganda niya.
Pagkatapos naming magbihis ay sabay na kaming bumaba. I bought a conservative swimwear for the both of us, kasi alam ko naman na hindi talaga siya nagsusuot ng two-piece. May isang couple din kaming nakasabay sa elevator pababa, buti naman hindi over-crowded sa lugar na ito.
As we reach the diving booth, the enthusiastic dive instructor welcomed us with a friendly smile, detailing the ins and outs of the free diving and fun diving package.
Pero narealize ko na wala kaming dalang underwater camera. Kaya naman sinabi ko iyon kay Freya.
"Ugh! I forgot my action camera. Kung alam ko lang" I leaned in, whispering to Freya, whose eyes momentarily reflected disappointment.
Madidisappoint na sana ako ng tuluyan pero buti nalang mukhang narinig ng instructor yung binulong ko kay Freya.
"No worries po, our package includes free photos and videos to capture every moment of your underwater adventure. Meron kami GoPro action camera"
Marami ring divers na nag-aavail ng package pero without hesitation, we chose to rent the entire experience for just the two of us, with our own instructor and boat driver.
Even though we're good at free diving, we follow safety rules that say we can't dive alone. It's crucial to have someone on the surface to help if needed.
We wore our gear na included sa package like wetsuits, masks, and long fins. We opted to use the long ones since hindi naman kami mga baguhan sa free diving, lalo na si Freya.
We boarded the boat and set off for a part of the sea teeming with corals, including their highlighted shipwreck. Hindi maitatago ang excitement kay Freya habang papalapit na kami sa aming destination.
Buti nalang nakabili rin kami ng protection para sa mga phones namin. She is taking video of every single thing.
Nakita ko na nag spark yung mata niya sa tuwa. She loves this, I know. Wala itong tigil sa pagkuha ng video at pati ako, kinukuhanan niya. Hinayaan ko lang siya. I'm so happy seeing her like this.
