The salty breeze at the seaside music festival tousled my hair as Freya and I moved through the lively crowd. The rhythmic music blended with the distant sound of waves, making the atmosphere exciting. Bright lights adorned the night sky, and the smell of the ocean breeze.
Val and I attended Coachella last year held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. And it was the biggest music festival in the world. However, ngayon lang ako nakaattend sa isang local music festival. It was far different from the Coachella, pero mas special ngayon kasi I got to attend it with Freya.
Nakisabay kami sa crowd, at marami rin akong nakitang familiar na mukha, some are vloggers, musicians, and famous celebrities. Sumasayaw sila sa musika habang umiinom. Freya and I exchanged excited glances while we joined the festival-goers.
Kumuha kami ng drinks bago kami pumunta sa pinaka gitna kung saan nagsasayawan at nagkakantahan ang mga tao. Meron ding banda na tumutugtog sa stage. Hindi ko kilala pero they seemed to be famous here in the Philippines.
I clutched my tropical cocktail – a blend of pineapple juice and coconut rum – its sweetness perfectly matching the lively vibe. Freya, held a glowing watermelon mojito with flair.
We moved to the rhythm of the music, habang hawak hawak ang aming mga inumin. Nakikita ko kung gaano kasaya si Freya ngayon. Siguro namiss din talaga niya mag enjoy ng ganito dahil sa apat na taon, puro lang siya aral.
We were now dancing to the rhythm of a sexy dance, she's sooo fine when she dances. Pinagmamasdan ko lang siya habang sumasayaw rin ako.
"Come on, dance with me!" With a gentle pull using her hand, she brought my waist closer to hers, almost leaving no space between us.
Hinayaan ko lang siya habang sumasabay sa pagsayaw niya. She's clearly enjoying this moment.
Pero hindi pa kami nakakatapos ng isang sayaw, may lumapit na sa amin. A familiar face went near us.
I think he is a vlogger, parang nakita ko na siya sa mga videos na kumakalat kung saan saan. I'm not sure tho, wala naman akong pakialam. He's surrounded by a small entourage, was making his way through us.
"Do you know him?" she whispered when the guy finally made his way and approached us. Nakangiti pa ito sa amin.
I shook my head. We watched as the guy and his friends joined us. Ang kapal ng mukha, feeling close?
Freya and I exchanged glances, realizing he was trying to dance with us. The guy's attention became increasingly fixated on Freya. He leaned in, his words tinged with flirtation.
"Hey there, beautiful ladies! Mind if we join you?" pagpapalam pa nito pero nakikisayaw na sa amin. Nairita ako kasi masyado siyang nakadikit kay Freya. Hindi naman sa nagseselos ako, pero I just hate those kind of guys na feeling gwapo.
Napatingin naman dito si Freya at saka kumunot ang noo. Determined to reclaim Freya's attention, I took a bold sip of my cocktail and turned to him with a sly smile.
"Sorry, but we're good here. Right, Frei?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
The guy's confident expression wavered for a moment, and Freya stifled a laugh. Pero tumango tango rin ito habang nakatingin sa akin, "righto, mate, we're good here. We don't want additional company"
The guy had to crack a smile at his unexpected rejection.
Bago pa man magpumilit ito ay hinila ko si Freya sa isang parte na kaunti lang ang tao. Nakakairita talaga yung mga lumalapit na akala mo naman papatulan namin. Jeez!
