Ava was given to her by the gods. She was chosen. But as she sees her body reflecting the candescent light of the sun she resents that heaven. How they so easily let her be ripped from the gates and thrown onto the concrete below. Ava was her heaven, her warmth, and she would follow the light of her before she followed any other. And that's where she finds her hands now, reaching for her strength, her beauty her happiness. What she would do to see her smile again. God's had taken too much from her. They can't take her too.

"-on't want you to die," the tears come streaming down her face. It's the first in her life Beatrice doesn't think about the stares she receives from those surrounding and she let's herself be completely unburdened and unbound to those rules she'd made herself put in place. How silly they seemed when her angel remained slack in her arms.

A gentle ringing comes from the halo and a twitch of avas neck resting in Bea's shoulder.

"Shh it's okay it's okay," ava speaks, her eyes still blinking more slowly and her pulse is too fast. But she's here. And she will be okay.

She will. Bea threatens to the God's above.

Gentle touches are strewn across Avas cheek as each try their best to comfort each other in their own way. They couldve remained this way for hours and not noticed that much time had passed until they had to be interupted.

"We best get out of here before the rest of Adriels zealots come, are you okay to walk Ava," mother superior states very formally. Although Ava could've sworn her eyes looked slightly softer than usual.

"Yeah sure no problemo," Ava smiles and winces at the same time. Why did she say that.

It took her 2 seconds of moving her arms to push herself up before Beatrice had to intervene. Basically holding her entire weight with a gentle arm behind Avas back as Ava swung hers over Beas shoulder. Ava always wondered just how much strength Beatrice had. It seemed she never broke a sweat on the way to the van.

Camilla had told them of the traffic over the city when driving toward where they were stationed. The FBC had taken over streets all across the way there, so it was a wait until they could get ava back and safe again.

"Are you okay, are you in pain," Beatrice whispered as they stood on the pavement by the pick up area. She'd known ava may be a bit apprehensive to admit she needed help. Although she would never blame her. She couldn't imagine the horrors ava had experienced as a child in St Micheals.

Ava wanted to laugh at the comment. Beatrice was so sweet and innocent it pained her.

"Hmm just hold me, I'll be okay," she responded tiredly her head slotting onto Beas shoulder.

"Where does it hurt?"

"Head, back, everywhere, but I'll be okay Bea. I'm okay," ava reassured as she took Beatrice's hand in hers.

The next few minutes were quiet. Beatrice stood on the sidewalk staring at the speckles of blood across her hands from where she'd held Avas lifeless body. Calculating everything she shouldve done to save her. Everything she did that wasn't good enough.

"Bea I feel really dizzy can we sit down, and I'm really tired,"

She gently held the of the back of Avas head as she eased them to sit on the ground.

"It's okay we can sit down, I'd prefer it if you didn't sleep right now. We haven't monitored you for concussion and we don't know what that could do to you and I don't want to take my chances, okay? Do you think you will be able to stay awake?"

Ava wanted to cry. Everything hurt and Bea was so caring and gentle. But ava was so tired. To her core. It felt as if her heart was drained and it was emptying out any energy she had left to live.
