"LET ME GO! HELP ME!!" I dig my heels into the ground and feel a sudden yank.
"All the same... Can never just do as I ask..."
I try to dig my nails into his fingers and feel myself being pulled up and his hand wrap around my throat. My feet lift off the ground, I grab onto his wrist.
"Why can't you just not love me, Madelaine? Every single time you do this! Have I not given you the love you need?" His grip tightens.
"I love you, Madelaine! Can't you see that I want us to be together?" His voice sounding shaky.
"Do you not love me?" He lowers me and slightly loosens his grip.
Feeling the solid ground beneath my feet, I hit him as hard as I can. His hold slips. I turn and run.
"HELP!"
I hear his footsteps beating the ground behind me.
"HELP ME!"
I feel like my throat is on fire.
The moonlight appearing from behind a cloud, starts illuminating the fence approaching fast, I jump forward towards the hole I dug.
A sudden grip around my ankle jolts me back and feel a heavy pressure build on top of me.Desperately trying to claw my way through the hole I feel his grip turn me around and an object coming down straight towards me. My ears sing, at the constant hollow sound banging against my head.
In between the blows. My arms stretched out, I open my eyes seeing him bringing down the skull I unearthed, against my head with force.
With every hit, a piece of my strength is chipped away like an artist perfecting his masterpiece.
"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LOVE ME! WHY DO YOU FORCE ME TO DO THIS TO YOU?" He stops.
Dazed, I try to turn but my body does not respond.
"I gave you everything! I would have given you so much more!" I feel his pressure lift and something being pushed onto me.
"I can't let you go now... I wanted to... But I can't do that... You made me not be able to let you go..." His voice sounds strained.
"I guess now you'll have to stay here... Just like all the others..." I feel the cold mud start heaping up on me.
"Do you see what you are making me do? If you just listened to me then I would not have to do this now... I thought you would be different. But you are all just the same..."
My body sinks deeper into the ground as the weight of the mud covers me like a blanket.
Terror filling my body to the brim, I watch as Kevin hunkers over me, wiping at his forehead with the back of his muddy hand. I feel my tears streaming down, as I try to fill my already strained lungs. I gasp.
Gently moving the hair from my face he leans in closer.
"Oh don't cry, my love... It's okay... I forgive you... I promise... I am sure one day I'll find the perfect Madelaine." His lips burn my forehead.
"I was hoping it would have been you..." He sits up and slowly starts pushing the mud over my face.
"You would have been my perfect Madelaine... Well, I guess only in my eyes..."
