𝒀/𝑵'𝒔 𝑷𝑶𝑽:

As you and Xavier sat in the backseat of the Uber car, you couldn't help but notice the passing scenery outside the window. The driver, a quiet and focused woman, expertly navigated through the nonbusy road, driving on a one-sided road with not many turns. You estimated that you were about 15 minutes away from Nevermore, your destination.

Despite the comfortable and spacious interior of the car, you and Xavier kept a respectful distance from each other, with one empty seat between you. As you rode along. The car was in complete silence with the woman driver humming a tune and the sound of the car's wet wheels rolling on the cement road in the background.

As you sat in the car, your gaze turned towards the window, peering outside at the passing scenery. The vehicle was moving at a steady pace, allowing you to take in the natural beauty that surrounded you. You couldn't help but notice the towering trees that lined the sides of the road, most of them bare with only a scattered few still clinging to their leaves.

The sky had darkened considerably, and while it was a sight to behold, you couldn't shake off the nagging worry at the back of your mind. You couldn't help but think of Weems and hoped with all your heart that she was unaware of you and Xavier being out almost past curfew especially in a forest earlier.

You turned your head away from the car window looking in Xavier's direction. You were met with his olive-green eyes as he was already looking at you before you looked at him. As you looked into his eyes you noticed the brown that surrounded his pupils despite his eyes being green.

As you sat across from Xavier, you noticed him smiling at you. You returned the smile, but your mind was preoccupied with forming a coherent sentence. Your gaze drifted off into space as you searched for the right words to express your thoughts.

Xavier's curious expression didn't go unnoticed as he continued to observe you. After a moment, you refocused your attention on him and began to speak.

"Have you spoken to Rowan recently, since you still think he's alive and everything," I said picking at my nails as I looked at Xavier.

"Yes I have, I think you might be right about Rowan," Xavier said.

"Hmmm, why the sudden change of heart? Earlier today you were telling me that I was crazy to believe he's dead." I said with a raised brow as I turned in my seat towards him to hear him better.

"I texted him again earlier during my break at the Cafe. I said maybe we could meet over spring break and snowboard like last year. This time he texted right back, and said he wouldn't be able to make it." Xavier said looking straight into your eyes.
