Sage: A Divergent Story (2015)

Chapter One

Where am I?  I wake up from the serum for the aptitude test.  The walls are completely white marble.  I need to get out of Dauntless.  I save the girl from the violent dog, I grabbed the meat to get the dog away.  I do not look in the mirror as I think it makes me look bad.  The test administrator, an Amity woman tells me my result.  I am relieved.  Abnegation.  No more having to jump out of trains or the tough training.  I am free from this eternal pit of hell.  I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not in Abnegation. Abnegation is the over-looker of the factions.  The selfless.  I don't get to walk by the Abnegation housing today.  I go straight to the Dauntless headquarters where I meet my mother.  She asks how it went, but I don't wanna talk about it.  We aren't supposed to tell anyone our aptitude test results.  They say it's top secret, but many of the Dauntless and Candor usually talk about it.  The Amity usually stay near their headquarters.  The Erudite try to tell the facts how they are, but frankly no one cares.  No one wants to know how messed up we are.  No one talks about what happened during the war.  Everyone has their own interpretation on what happened and many people blame others.  The truth is it's all our faults.  No one knows if there is any life beyond the gates of the city.  We reside in what used to be Chicago.  Many of the factionless say how they remember when the war was going on and they visited cities like New York City and Tallahassee.  I wish i could go there but I have never seen anything but Chicago and the remains of the former city.  Anyways the choosing ceremony is tomorrow and I can't wait for a new beginning.  My name is Sage Green and I am Abnegation.
