Birds sang, students chattered and the wind blew its gentle breeze. On any other day, I would have welcomed this perfect scene but right now, I could hardly even lift my head to look at anyone.
The silence that covered us Slytherin quartet was apparent and it was getting more unbearable by the second. Anytime now, I know Anne or Ominis will say something.
And I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain.
"Okay, what the bloody hell is going on?" Anne finally broke the ice, directing her question to either me or Sebastian. "It's only the second day back and you two are already acting like children."
Ominis shook his head, breathing out a sigh. "Sebastian, whatever it is, I am sure it is your fault. Apologize to Athea."
I wanted to say it wasn't Sebastian's fault but a loud thud vibrated through The Great Hall, earning our little group some concerned looks.
Sebastian slammed his hand on the table, everyone flinched except Ominis. Sebastian's face contorted into a mix of both sadness and frustration.
He shifted his gaze to the side as he leaned closer to the blind man next to him. "I did nothing wrong." He growled.
Unmoving, Ominis challenged Sebastian. "Please," he drawled "spare me your semantics, Sebastian. I know you and I know Athea," Ominis spoke sternly, now facing Sebastian with his glossy blue eyes. "You must have done something to make poor Athea uncomfortable."
"Ominis! I-it's not like that!" I began to panic.
Ominis was now facing my direction "Then do tell, my dear. What exactly is going on?"
My breath hitched.
"I-it's nothing..." I lied.
"Nothing?" Sebastian scoffed as he rolled his eyes.
I swallowed the lump that threatened to form in my throat as a stutter to get words out "N-no—I-I mean—it's not—"
For the first time today, I finally looked at Sebastian. I noticed the dark circles under his eyes, his usual olive glow was dull, his messy waves were even messier, and his brown eyes that usually glistened with adventure and mischief were now replaced with disappointment and defeat.
And it was my fault.
I couldn't even continue what I wanted to say because I didn't know what I wanted to say.
He couldn't even look at me, which only made the pit in my stomach deepen. I can see Sebastian biting down his lower lip as if to stop himself from saying something.
"You know what I want and I don't regret saying it." He mumbled. And with that, Sebastian stormed out of the Great Hall.
Anne watched her twin leave and I could tell she was worried about him. Ominis listened closely for Sebastian's footsteps to disappear before speaking.
"Athea, my dear. You do not need to tell us if you do not wish to do so but Sebastian is more upset than usual." Ominis spoke, his tone much gentler than before.
Anne placed a concerned hand on my thigh, her brown eyes that she shared with Sebastian only reminded me of what happened last night at the Undercroft.
"You know how stubborn and impulsive Sebastian can be."

My body seemed to move on its own, making me stand up and leave the warm sanctuary that was Sebastian. I quickly wanted to return to his arms, missing the feeling of belongingness that his embrace gave me.
