Juliette's POV
I don't want to be seen as a hypocrite but I don't care for doctors either. My husband knows this. I feel like he set me up for this. I knew about my daughters checkup but I had no clue I was in need for one. I stand in front of the chair. My husband looks at me, "Go ahead and take a seat love." I groan, "Do we have to do this today, Aaron? I don't see this as necessary." My husband Aaron glares at me, "Not a chance, babe. Take a seat." Leila giggles. Aaron tells her something and she goes to her room quietly. When she's gone I immediately accuse Aaron, "Aaron! You set me up!" My husband laughs at me, "I promise you I didn't. I just saw that your name was on the due checkup list. It would be easier for me to do it now." I scowl. I say, "We can do this tomorrow. I want to go back to bed. My husband goes in front of the door folding his arms, "it's lunch time almost love. You aren't going to bed right now." I pout. He wiggles his eyebrows, "Don't make me put you on the chair myself." I push his arm, laughing"Stop that." He laughs for a second too but then Aaron turns serious suddenly, grabbing my hands and pulling me into his warm embrace, then releases me cupping my hands saying, "I know I like to joke around with you a lot, love. But I do want you to know your feelings are valid. I know sometimes you are just as scared as our daughter is when it comes to doctors." I blush looking away embarrassed to be caught, saying, "I know. But I'm almost 30, Aaron. And I'm afraid of doctors? That's pathetic." My husband looks at me reassuringly, "Oh, Juliette. Age doesn't make a difference." I hide my face, he suggests, "I tell you what I'll go really slowly with you alright? I know you haven't had a checkup in a little bit so it's a bit unfamiliar to you right now and that is probably what's startling you." I agree. My husband smiles at the agreement. We head towards the chair. Reluctantly i sit down in the chair. It looks more like a dentist chair I think this fact makes me more nervous. My leg bounces in nervousness. My husband, Aaron Warner, noticed this immediately, places his hand against my leg, rubbing it comfortingly. I almost forget to breathe. Aaron asks, "Are you okay, love?" I nod, replying, "I just was wondering why it looks more like a dentist chair is all- I think it kind of freaks me out." Aaron frowns, "Aww, you're okay baby. It does kind of look like one doesn't it. But one question do you remember the last time you went to the dentist?" I shake my head not remembering or wanting to know. My husband writes something down. I question, "What did you write?" He tells me, "No worries, baby. I just put that you haven't been in a while. I have a degree in dentistry too you know love." My voice quivers as I speak, "You -you do?" Aaron holds on to me saying, "Hey, hey it's okay though don't worry about that right now sweetheart. Let's just do your checkup right now okay?" I nod. He says, sitting in his chair that spins. He explains, "First, I'm going to check your eyes, mouth, ears, and heart." I tell my husband I understand. He tells me, "I'm going to let back the seat a little. Don't freak out alright love." I shake my head. I feel the chair moving back. My head goes back and the chair is now in an laid position. I feel very vulnerable as my husband is right over me sitting on a chair. He holds a light to my eyes checking them. He tells me to open my mouth. I say ahh and he looks at my throat. It's healthy. Same thing with my ears. He takes the stethoscope and presses it to my heart listening. Aaron says, "All good." My husband says, "Since you are in your twenties and it's required of most adults and I probably need to make sure you don't have a risk for breast cancer. But before I do that I need to check your stomach make sure nothing hurts you." I slowly nod up and down. I'm self conscious of my body my husband especially knows this. I think my husband senses this because he asks me politely and almost audibly, "Can you take off your shirt, love?" I start to say, "Aaron-" But I take it off for him. My husband says, looking me up and down, then falling on my face, "You are beautiful, Juliette, love. You are the most beautiful person I've ever seen. Please don't feel self conscious. I can stare at you all day if I could. You are ethereal, extravagant, love. Don't think any different." I say, "Oh, Aaron." He says, "I'm going to apply pressure in different spots on your stomach okay tap me or tell me if it hurts you." I shake my head okay. He presses on my stomach in different places. He asks at the end, "How was that?" I giggle, "It mainly just tickles but doesn't hurt." My husband laughs softly. His laugh is so beautiful. I can listen to him laugh for hours. His little dimples are to die for. Aaron explains, "Okay. Now I'm going to ask you to remove your bra so I can check you or breast cancer and make sure nothing is abnormal or if you have any lumps." I am not totally uncomfortable with the idea because my husband has see them on countless occasions. I wrap my arm around my back and unhook my bra. My husband starts to ask me questions as he touches them in different spots, "Does this hurt? "Do they ever hurt? And different questions like that. After a few minutes he is done and he helps me slide my bra back on a then my shirt. Then , lastly, my husband looks at me, saying, "Don't freak out, love. But you need blood work done ." I do the opposite of what he says to do. I freak out. I say, "Aaron, no. I don't need that. Please no." He says, "I'm sorry love you need your blood drawn." I bite my lip, and reply quietly, "I'm scared. Needles hurt way worse than shots, baby." Aaron says, "It's only one, Juliette. It'll be done before you know it. Remember what you told Leila earlier." I sigh, "That's different." He furrows his brow, questioning, "How?" I reply, "I don't know." Aaron prepares the needle. My husband says, "Prop your arm on the armrest so I can find a vein okay? Just a little pinch and you'll be done for today okay, beautiful?" I swallow nodding resting my arm on the armrest. He says ,"Thank you, love. I'm proud of how brave you've been today." I start to look down at my arm when he gets ready to stick me and his other fingers grab my chin and pull it up at his face slightly," Don't look at the needle. That makes you panic. Just look in my eyes. The green eyes you love to look at so much." I look into his emerald green eyes. They are the most gorgeous shade of green. He sticks me. I yelp, "OW!" Aaron says, "It's okay, you're doing good, babe. You're okay. Almost done." When he's done he takes it out and puts a cotton ball and a bandage on it. Aaron warner leans down and kisses my head, "I love you, baby."
