Aaron's POV
I wake to the morning sunlight blinding me in the face like a laser. I roll over and groan and my wife, Juliette Warner, formally known as Juliette Ferrars, is already awake and grinning at me. Her smile is radiant and full of life. She whispers beside me, "Good morning." I stretch my arms out and then say back,"Good morning, my love." She snuggles against my naked chest while saying, "Let's go make breakfast." I can feel the warmth of her chest against mine. Then she tries to sneak away from me, gripping the covers,"I'm starving," she says. I raise my brow and steal her back. Her giggles are adorable as I inform her as I pull her back to me, "I haven't even got my good morning kisses yet." I tell her, "You are beyond exquisite and irresistibly gorgeous. Don't feel insecure. You are the most beautiful woman in this world." My wife exclaims, "Oh, Aaron." I wholeheartedly reply, "I mean it." I am utterly speechless as my wife uncovers herself with the blanket. I take in her beauty. I was dumbstruck. She crawls back onto the bed. My voice is husky as I say, "I love you." Juliette responds, "I love you more." I give her a look and I say, "I have to disagree with your words my love. You see I love you way more than anyone can ever fathom. You are my heart and soul. You are the air I breath. I love you endlessly."  She was looking at me now, her mouth agape. Her legs slowly wrap around my lap. I cradle her in my lap as I plant kisses down her body. After we kiss for a bit, we get dressed and head downstairs for breakfast.

While we are making breakfast, our daughter who's thirteen comes down from her room. She sits down at the table. My wife tells her good morning Leila says good morning back. I go over to Leila and kiss her on the head, "Good morning, sweetheart. How'd you sleep?" I noticed that she felt a little warm when I kissed her head. I hold the back of my palm to her head. I ask her in protectiveness , "You feeling okay?" She shakes her head, "Yeah. I'm okay, Dad. I just didn't sleep the best." I respond, "I'm sorry to hear that." My wife looks at me in concern. My daughter announces to us, "Im gonna try and go back to sleep." Her mother and I nod and let her go back upstairs. I explain to my wife how her head seemed warm when I put my hand on her head. I tell her, "I feel like she's lying that she feels okay but she won't tell me." Juliette rubs my shoulder in reassurance, "She maybe like I was. She is probably scared of doctors like me and tries to hide her feelings." I pace the kitchen and say, "I just want to make sure she's okay. But I don't want to scare her either." My wife responds, trying to calm me down,"You are her father. You want what's best for her. It's okay, Aaron." Juliette smiles and adds, "I'll go talk to her." I sigh as I sit at the table and eat my breakfast as I watch my wife go upstairs to talk to my daughter.

Juliette's POV
I knock on my daughters door and she answers, "Come in." I sit on her bed. Leila asks, "Did dad send you up here?" I respond, "No. I chose to come. But your father is worried about you."  I tell her, "And if you are anything like me you are probably afraid of your father's profession." Leila says, admitting it, "He's just a little.... I don't know...scary in his doctor mode. I know he cares about me but his doctor side overwhelms me a little. It's like he has a father mode and a doctor mode." I smile a little, "I understand that. But he doesn't realize it. I promise you he doesn't try to scare you. He just really wants the best for you."  My daughter says, "I guess." After a moment, I ask her, "Is it okay if he comes up here with me to check on you?" Leila gives me a look of hesitation but then says reluctantly , "I guess.." I smile at her. I quickly make my way back downstairs and explain to my husband, "It's okay if you come up and check on her. She just told me that you get a bit carried away on your doctor side sometimes more than your father side which is understandable. It just scares her a little she told me." Aaron gives me a guilty look, "Oh my. She said that?" I nod at him. My husband palms himself in the face while pacing the room. I say to him, "Aaron."  He stops. I continue, "You did nothing wrong, don't beat yourself up, okay?" He sighs in agreement.

Aaron's POV
Juliette and I go into Leila's room. I have my bag of a few doctor things with me. I hope it doesn't scare her off. Juliette sits in her bed first. I sit in front of Leila. I put my bag behind me. I tuck my daughters hair behind her ear, "Hey, baby." Leila says, "Hey, Dad." I feel my wife rub my back behind me and I say to my daughter, "You know I love you right?" Leila replies, "Yeah." I continue," Sometimes your father can get carried away by wanting to protect you that he doesn't always pay attention to your fears. I'm sorry, sweetheart." Leila says, "It's okay, Daddy." I tell her, "If you feel bad again baby please don't hesitate to tell me. I promise I won't overreact." She nods. I give  her a quick hug and then I release her asking her, "Okay. Can I feel your head again?" I can tell she is hesitant but she tells me yes. I place my palm against her head. It's hot. I say, my brows lined in concern, "You're burning up, baby." I bring out the thermometer and tell her to leave it in her mouth till it beeps. When it does I take it out and read it. It's 100.2. She exclaims, tears in her eyes,"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, Dad. I did feel bad this morning." I say, reassuring her, "Hey, hey, love, it's okay. I got you. You'll be okay. It doesn't matter. I'm here now and you'll be absolutely fine. Daddy's got you." Juliette passes me a cold rag to press against our daughters head to try and break her fever. I say to her gently as I shift her pillow back to make her comfortable," Lay back just a little." Her head moves back against the pillow and I press the rag against her warm head. I ask her, carefully,"Can you tell me what's been bothering you, Lil?" Leila is a bit more hesitant as she replies, " My throat hurts a little bit. And my stomach too. And I'm really cold now ." I shake my head nodding, "Yeah. You're running a fever, sweetheart. And I'm going to check your throat and a few other things real quick, okay?" My daughter nods. After getting the swab to test her for strep throat, my daughter looks at me with a frightened apprehensive expression on her face. I am fast to comfort her," It shouldn't hurt. I promise. Just a little discomfort is all. Just for a few seconds." Juliette says, "Its okay, Leila. Your dad is right." I move closer to her and I request patiently, "Can you open your mouth for me?" As hesitant and fearful as she was, she does as I ask her to. I stick the swab down her throat and move it around in a fast motion. When I take it out, she gags in discomfort. I say, "Sorry, love." I let the swab sit and wait for the results later. For now, I inform Leila, "Next, I'm going to move on to your vitals." "Can you move your shirt up a little so I can listen to your heart?" She lets me and I listen with the stethoscope. I do the same with her back. "Breath in." She breaths in. I say, "Breathe out." She exhales. I announce to her, "Your lungs sound a little raspy but nothing overly concerning it's completely normal for someone who's feeling sick." Leila nods. The results come back for her strep and she has it. I tell her immediately prior along with my wife. I tell Juliette it's a pretty big case of strep and the best option for her would be a shot. Leila hears me and she says, "Dad- please don't give me a shot." I sigh, "Don't you want to get better baby?" She says, "Y-yes. But I don't want a sh-sh-shot." I understand she's scared so I wrap my arms around her and hug her, "It's okay. I tell you what we will do the shot later. Right now I'll give you some antibiotic liquid medicine first. Leila sniffles against my chest. I take out a liquid antibiotic and tell her open her mouth. I quiet the liquid in her mouth. She says, "It tastes gross." I say, "Yeah." I prepare the next step which is the shot and I place the tray beside her, and I start to roll up her pants leg and she says, "Its gonna hurt, Daddy." I say,"I know it does, love. But be brave, for me alright? It's just me, okay? Look at me. Don't look at the shot. Remember to breathe. Just look at me." I wait until she looks at me before I rub the cotton ball against her leg and plunge the shot into her leg. My daughter whimpers in pain. I hate to hurt her but it is going to help her get better. When I take it out, I kiss her on her head, "You did great, sweetheart . I'm proud of you." Leila's cheeks are stained with fresh tears. I wipe them away and cuddle her in my arms and rock her back and forth and soothingly rub her hair,"Shh.. it's okay. You did good, baby. It's okay. No more shots. I promise. Daddy's done. I won't hurt you anymore. It's all better now." Leila calms down after a bit and I let her fall asleep cuddling against my chest with my wife smiling down at our conjoined figures.
