Urban Avenger woke up from a deep sleep. He stood up from the ragged bed he was lying in which shown its age of daily usage, and then scanned his surroundings. He noticed that his mask was lying atop the wooden shelf beside his bed. He reached for the mask when the pain throughout his body came back with a vengeance.
He let out a groan as the white towel on his forehead fell off. He swear, he didn't noticed that one on his head.
He ignored the towel which have fell on his lap as he snatched his mask from the surface of the shelf. He secured the mask on his face as he fastened the strap on his chin, and on the back of his head. He threw on his hoodie as he scanned his environment once more.
He was on a small room which looked like a rat nest. Cardboard boxes were scattered on the floor along with metal pipes, electronic parts, kevlar armor and inking materials. He frowned at the sight for a moment as he asked himself what time it was. He stretched out his left hand as he frantically search for his standard issued watch but only to find that it was missing. He searched for the rest of his gear but only to find out that it was missing as well.
He stared at the window, which was covered by blinds, and saw the little sunlight that tries to get through. It hints him that the sun has risen.
Stretching, he jumped out of the bed. As soon as his feet touched down, he fell on the ground.
He swore as he tried to get up but was interrupted when he saw the knob of the wooden door in front of him turned. It slowly opened up as a head peeks in.
"Hey, you alright?" The owner of the head asked.
He was a Japanese kid with a pale skin. His face was covered with a half mask which reveals only his asian eyes.
"Where's my gear?" Urban asked between ragged breaths.
"Oh, that. We kept it in the storage for a moment. No offence but we don't trust you boys in blue especially that you've probably found out what we really are. So, we have to keep you away from your toys or you might use it against us." The Japanese kid says as he entered the room, revealing his full appearance.
The only suitable word to describe him was that he was a kid. His messy hair was spiked with a gel. His black sleeveless armor was polished cleanly. His jet black cargo pants was pressed neatly which was a complete opposite to his combat boots, which were stained with mud.
"Who are you and what is this place?" Urban asked as he tried his best to sit up.
The kid stared at him intently. He watched Urban tried to sit still alone before answering to make sure his voice will be heard.
"This is our headquarters, well more of a...rat nest." The kid says as he stared at the roof and chuckled. He heaved a sigh before continuing. "We are the Blackout Patrol Team who were tasked on patrolling this sector."
"Tasked? You mean you guys are following orders? Who are the powers to be in this street?" Urban asked as he managed to stand up without anyone's assistance which the kid found entertaining.
"The Resistance. That is the only thing you need to know." The kid says as he turned. "Rest, you'll need it."
"Need for what?"
"Don't tell me that you don't need to rest. Even Heroes sleeps too." The kid says as he opened the door and walked outside.
"Wait, who are you?" Urban asked in a screaming tone for the kid to hear.
"Black Sentry." The kid says as he stopped. He then left as he gently shut the wooden door behind him.
Urban scanned the room one more time. He searched for anything that could help him escape. He failed at trying to find the shaft that could lead him outside so he resorted to another option.
