Currently I'm preparing for dinner, well to be fair it's more like dancing to the music I currently have playing. I'm not really sure if I should be dressing to impress or not.  Picking the dress  will be the hardest part, I'm not sure how dressed up I want to get. I finally decide on a strapless black dress with black laced nude heels. Slowly I apply my makeup, not really knowing how I want to do it yet. When i finish my makeup I put on my necklace and spray myself with a little bit of my favourite perfume. As I'm putting my earrings in I hear our doorbell ring. I turn my music off and head downstairs.

"Good evening, please come in." I hear Joyce ,our maid, welcome our guests.

"Sandra, Jonathan, it's so nice to see you guys again, it's been far too long. My, my Ezra, how you've  grown  into such a fine young man." I hear my mom greet them while coming from the kitchen to join them.

"It's always a pleasure, Melody. It's been how many years?" The man I'm guessing is named Jonathan replied.

"Far too many." my mom replies before turning to me ,"Oh Kirsten dear, do you remember the Williams?"

"No I don't, sorry." I say politely while trying to get over the fact that my English teacher is standing in my foyer.

My dad introduces  everyone to me, and ushers us all into the parlor, for pre dinner drinks and to have a 'important' discussion, this doesn't sound too good.

"Kirsten, Ezra," Mrs. Williams begins, "I know you haven't seen each other in years but hopefully that'll change very soon.  Many moons ago back when me and Melody were very little our parents made a deal. When the day came that a son and daughter were born among our families they were to be wed. Our fathers both thought it'd be a wise idea since our families are so close. Well We had a son, Ezra, and then Kirsten, you were born. So you two are to be wed this up coming year when you turn 18, Kirsten."

Wait can she repeat herself? MARRIED? To my English teacher? I think not.

"WHAT? No, mom you're kidding right." Mr. Williams, I mean Ezra says quite shocked.

"No she's not." My mom says, "Kirsten will be moving in with you on Saturday."

"But mom, this is hardly fair, I'm seventeen, and I don't even know him" I say. Nevermind the fact that he's my teacher.

"This is final you two, she's moving in with you, Ezra. You'll just have accept that." his mom says quite firmly.

"What about Christopher?" Ezra asks.

Whose Christopher, don't tell me, he's gay. That might work in our favour in stopping this wedding though.

"What about Christopher dear? He can continue living with you if he wishes, the flats big enough for all three of you." She replies.

"Dinner time." Joyce comes in and announces.

Everyone moves into the dining room behind her. Ezra had stayed behind with me. "I don't like this anymore then you do. We'll have to sort something out." I say to him heading towards the dining room.

Suddenly I was pressed up in between him and the wall, "Please, you'd enjoy having me by your side. I'm the one suffering here, you're my student for petes sake." he growls at me before putting me down and turning away.

God it's hot when he's mad, but damn is he awful.

I enter the dining room with a polite smile on my face, and him right behind me. Sitting down I notice my dad giving me a funny look as Ezra sits down beside me. The whole time we're absolutely silent until my mom breaks the silence, "So, Ezra, what are you doing with your life now a days?"

"Actually, today was my first day as a English teacher, so far I find it to be a fun job." Ezra replies smiling at my mom.

"Congratulations, I hope it does become a career you enjoy for the rest of your life." My dad praises him. I swear, they prefer him over me, this is ridiculous.

After dinner we all say our farewells and I'm sent upstairs to pack. Looking around I realized just how much I'm going to miss this place. Even if me and my parents aren't close this is where I've lived my whole life.
