I was running around Dannys room trying to not forget anything he has asked for. Some tears still forming in the corners of my eyes. Thank goodness he reacted just in time and jumped out of the car soon enough before it catched even more on fire, yet the look of his hand haunted me the whole ride to the hotel.I heard more and more notifications come up on my phone, but I was to focused on getting back to him to check them. Whoever is trying to contact me right now, should now that I'll be out of reach for quite some time. Especially since I've already contacted his parents and let them speak on FaceTime for a second, just so they could see that he's alive and mostly fine.
No matter how much he promised me that his hand felt fine I was still really worried about it. The little parts on his knuckles were burned since the fire started right next to his right hand and as much as he tried to smile and laugh about the situation I could see that it was painful.
The whole drive to the hospital took me not even half of the time that it should, but some stupid ticket was the last thing I cared about right now. I walked right pass Zak and Daniels trainer and went straight into his room. Before entering I heard from Michael that he had already gone through all the checkups and tests.
''Stinky is back! Thank god I was starting to get really bored here.''
''Daniel stop. I'm not in the mood for jokes.''
''Cmon Oli, I promise I'm fine. Plus joking is all we have left, don't we?'' I shook my head feeling the tears forming again. ''Come here stinky.''
He patted the free space next to his bed and I quickly, but carefully laid down next to him instantly putting my arms around him.
''Did they find out anything yet?'' He asked me sounding more curious about the reason of the car covering in flames rather than his health.
''Not sure yet, but it was probably something with the fuels connection tube. Charlotte told me that no-one saw anything on the computers.'' He nodded.
''What's the race results?''
''Are you for real?'' He laughed and nodded. ''I have no clue, went straight to the hospital after the ambulance.''
''And you didn't check yet? Not interested in how your boy did?'' I rolled my eyes and took out my phone to pull up the results for him.
''I'm sure he did good and he'll understand why I'm not there.''
''Oh wow, Charles won. That's... surprising.'' He saw my face and we both laughed. ''You know what I mean.''
''Maybe the curse jumped to you for a second.''
''Hopefully just for a second, cause I hate it here. So white and plain, also please don't make me eat that food. We're in Italy and they still serve that awful hospital food.''
''No pasta?'' We heard some voice coming from the door and quickly looked there.
Lando, Max, Charles and Carlos were all standing there and smiling at us.
''Unfortunately no pasta, how are you all already out of the paddock?'' Daniel asked while greeting everyone with a left hand high five.
''We just left.'' I opened my eyes in shock hearing Charles words.
''What do you mean?''
''Quick podium for the fans and straight to the hospital. I'm sure the media won't cry too much.'' Carlos added sarcastically at the end.
''We also sneaked one bottle of champagne for you.'' Max just unzipped his teams jacket and took out a whole ass bottle, that's probably bigger than my head. At that moment I also realized that all of them are still in their race suits under the jackets.
