What We Could Have Had

He was just sitting there at the table, It bothered me to see him again after that.

I got up and went to the library and sat on a nice couch, I didn't order anything but then Tommy came through the door and saw me.

"Oh Tal, I was looking for you." He said as he walked towards me, That other guys head turned as he heard him say my name.

"Tommy, come here, I want to tell you what's happening in the story now." I said, as those words came out of my mouth I watched that guy walk out of the library, I bet it's because he is reading the same book but I didn't want him here anyways.

"Talia, whats wrong?" Tommy says to me as I watched him walk out. "oh, nothing, that guy though, he's such a grump, he was yelling at me today over nothing." I said, Tommy looked mad, "He was yelling at you?" His eyes narrowed to the door and watched him walk. "want me to do anything about it?" He asked. "No, Not now, Unless he stops tomorrow." I say. I read Tommy the book and he sits beside me as I lean into his shoulder. I see Connie watching us, it isn't her usual look though, she looks dissapointed but forcing a smile.

Now I feel uncomforable.

two days went by, it's halloween and that guy hasn't given me any issues, Im grateful, I'd rather be happy than have something bad to deal with. After school Tommy came over and got ready with me for Janets party, I did my makeup and he did his hair all nice. Just before we left we took some pictures.

"okay, lets go!" I say all exited, I wanted to keep the mood all happy for tonight, it was a special night, It was also our third month aniversery. We walked in the door to the party and the house was crowded, I grabbed his hand and pulled him around until we found some drinks. There was like a big bowl filled with redish alcoholic punch, no one had any clue what it was but it tasted good. we made our way to the living room where the speakers were, after a while I told Tommy I had to pee, he nodded and i left to find a bathroom.

I found one and banged on the door, two people came rushing out and I sat on the toilet to pee, If I took to long it would be hard to find Tommy, I usualy take a long time in the bathroom but be for real, it was halloween night. I got out of the bathroom and tried to find Tommy, it took me a while but I saw him in the dining room being very touchy with this other girl, I felt sick, He was playing with her hair and I couldn't watch anymore, I knew it was like not that long we've been dating but you just can't do that!

I ran to the frount door and closed it behind me, I walked trying to hold in all my thoughts and sat down on one of her steps. I put my face in my hands and a tear fell out.

"um." a voice said behind me, shoot. I turned around wiping my tear and to make matters better that stupid fucking guy was there, what was he gonna do now, take a picture of me and post it?

"What?!" I screamed, He looked shocked by my tone. "Im sorry, I didn't mean to scare you or anthing okay? gosh, I was just trying to let you know that I was sitting here," He said.

I scoffed at him. "Fine then, I'll move." I was about to get up when he interrupted me.

"No. I didn't mean it like that I meant how I was just, ugh I was saying how I was sitting here. Like you know, so you would know."
I sat back down.
"So what happened, why are you crying." He asked, I looked at him.
"Why do you care all a sudden?" I asked.
"I have three sisters, yet, I asked you first..." he said, I paused then talked.

"Well, wow so lucky rich me with my rich boyfriend having so much fun at a rich party when he's having more fun with this other girl but it doesn't matter cause my life is so perfect and I get everything I want to yeah." I say, he just looks at me and says nothing, he looks in the window and sees Tommy touching this stupid girl, I get so angry just looking at it.

"Wow, well, I guess you're right then, things aren't always as it seems." He says. I loom at him.
"I'm going." I say. "Do you have a ride?" He says to me. I shake my head. "Neither do I.... I know you hate me and I don't feel so good about you but I can walk you home."

I looked at him, I'm just so curious, he has three sisters and is so rude to me about my lifestyle and now is being so, nice.

"Why." I ask, he says nothing.

"You know, you don't have to say yes, it's halloween there's a million kids walking I was just giving the offer." He shrugged.

"Fine then, yes, please." I say, he gets up and hold my hand to get me up, I take one last glance in the window and am so frustrated that he hasn't even noticed I've been gone. I wipe my tears and walk with him, you know, he isn't all that bad.

"So what's your name." I ask, "Im josh. I know your Talia so I don't have to ask that." He says, the rest of the walk was silent. We didn't talk, we just walked. It started to snow a little. As I got to my house I said bye and he just walked away. He's so mysterious, I'm so curious on him.
