Faith & Promises// Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Maurice x Zuri(OC)

Chapter One

The scorching sun beat down on the dense African jungle, casting a bright glare on the lush greenery below. Thin clusters of clouds drifted lazily across the sky. The sounds of animals filled the air as they roared and called out to each other. Birds soared high above while a snake slithered silently through the undergrowth. Despite the commotion, a sense of calmness and tranquility enveloped the jungle.

The dense jungle was alive with the sounds of a large chimpanzee troop moving through it. They communicated with each other through hoots and grunts, making sure to stay in contact and check on one another. The troop moved swiftly through the trees and thick bushes but stopped when one of the apes made a call. They all turned to look behind them, on high alert.

Standing there, they noticed a sudden rustling in the trees behind them. Something was moving swiftly from one branch to another, causing leaves to fall to the ground. They watched in awe as the figure moved incredibly fast, leaping effortlessly through the dense foliage. It was heading straight towards them, and it was closing in fast.

Some apes hooted in confusion as the troop huddled close together. They all got defensive, not taking their eyes off the movement up in the trees as the figure got closer and closer. The figure then landed infront of the troop, letting out a small grunt.

The troop soon relaxed and gave friendly hoots as they continued moving. The figure was a human, and a female as well. She is a human who was raised by the troop for 11 years and has proven her loyalty over and over again. The human was none other than 11-year-old Zuri.

Zuri was a beautiful strong 11-year-old girl. She had long, beautiful curly ginger-red hair that looked like a patch of fresh roses. Her eyes were almond-shaped and Sky Blue, with flecks of Deep Blue. Her skin was a Tan-ish peach color and Chocolate brown freckles were on her cheeks and the bridge of her nose.

Zuri's nails were razor-sharp, and she had two sharp fangs. Her body was littered with scars and wounds. She had a few patches of dirt and mud staining her skin, but she didn't care. Her body was pear-shaped.

Her clothing was a Micro skit, a cropped bra top made out of Golden Lion fur. Tied to her back was a spear, decorated with flowers. She had knee and elbow pads made of bark and a flower in her hair.

Zuri exhaled deeply before smiling happily at the troop. She hooted greetings and waved at them, chirping at the babies or the kids. The chimps made sure to greet her back as well. Some waving, some hooting, some smiling, some grunting, and some chirping.

Zuri bowed her head at them but was focused on finding her parents. Her mom, Bright Eyes, and her dad, Alpha. After a few more moments, she finally spotted them. They were walking side by side, peaceful looks on their faces. A wide grin spread across Zuri's face before she rushed towards her parents.

A few chimps stepped aside to let her pass and to avoid getting trampled by her. Zuri's parents then looked up at her and loving expressions appeared on their faces.

Zuri gave them a happy hoot as she sank onto her knees and hugged her parents. The father wrapped his strong arm around her, grunting warm greetings to her. While cleaning her hair, the mother pampered Zuri's face with kisses and nuzzles.

Zuri giggled at the affection she was receiving from her parents. Suddenly, a large flock of birds flew over the trees rapidly, they seemed to be frightened. The troop froze, not one making a sound or a movement. Zuri took a few sniffs of the air her hand slowly reaching for her spear.

In the bushes and trees around them, hunters and poachers hid. The troop was surrounded by them, with nowhere to go. Silence rang through the jungle, the only audible sound being the buzzing sound of the insects.
