Chapter Nine

Will and Caroline waited patiently for Zuri and Caesar. Amber was there too, a pissed-off expression on her face. They all perked up at the sound of the two young ones approaching the small caged room.

"Zuri," Amber whispered as she hurried over to the cage where the two appeared.

"Hey! Hey!" Will greeted them with a smile as he and Caroline squatted down to greet Caesar.

"Hey, Caesar!" Caroline greeted as Dodge walked into the room.

"Amber!" Zuri happily said, purring.

"Hey Zuri, hey sweetheart," Amber softly greeted as she reached through the cage and held Zuri's face in her hands. Zuri purred as she leaned into her touch, tears going down her face. Amber then noticed that Zuri was wearing Caesar's shirt. Amber stood back when Will stood in to greet his daughter figure.

"Zuri," Will said as he smiled at her and held her face in his hands as well. Zuri purred loudly and leaned into his touch, smiling. Will noticed that she was wearing Caesar's shirt as well...as well as a bitemark on the side of her neck.

"Zuri...Zuri what happened? Are you hurt? Did someone hurt you and Caesar?" Will asked as she got up to go get a bowl of water for Caesar. Zuri looked at Will and nodded her head, a frown on her face. "Who?" Will asked, his voice becoming firm.

Zuri started whispering to Amber and Will what happened while Dodge watched, leaning against the wall. She told them about the attack, the mistreatment from Dodge, how Dodge sprayed her with a house, and how Dodgee made perverted comments to her.

Amber and Will were instantly filled with anger and disgust as they both turned to look at Dodfge, who was standing a few feet away.

"Caesar you hand. Give me your hand Caesar," Caroline ordered softly as she took Caesar's hand in hers.

"Sometimes the new kids on the block get picked on," Dodge said like he did nothing wrong.

Will stared at him before he rushed to Dodge, anger written on his face. He punched Dodge across the face before grabbing by the shirt and pinning him to the wall. "That's bullshit! You son of a bitch!" he snarled.

"Will!" Caroline exclaimed.

"Hey!" the dad exclaimed as Dodge shoved Will off of him, holding his nose that was bleeding. "What's the problem here?"

As soon as he said that, Amber delivered a slap across the face to nDodge before shoving him aggressively. "You wanna be perverted and talk shit, huh? Do it again. Do it again and see how fast I put your ass in the grave, you sick motherfu-!"

"Hey!!" The dad yelled, getting in between his son and the two. The three had a staredown before Will and Amber walked off.

"We are taking them out of here, right now!" Will stated as he grabbed dthe key to unlock the cage.

"Not without a court order, you're not," The dad stated as he snatched the key back from him. "They're not yours, anymore."

"You son of a--" Amber snarled before Will stopped her.

"Go to Zuri," Will said firmly, and Amber didn't hesitate. She turned around and walked back to the cage to comfort Zuri and Caesar.

"I promise, if I found out your son does anything perverted to my daughter in any way, or they both get mistreated in here in any way, I'll have this place shut down," Will said in a dangerous tone before turning back to Zuri and Caesar.

Caesar had an excited look on his face as he started to speak in sign language, signing that he wanted to go home. Caroline, Will, and Amer looked at him sadly, Zuri included. She knew the situation better than Caesar, and she knew they couldn't go home yet. And it made her tear up more.
