- except this is fluff and they're in love, so there's a tooth-rotting undertone

The blonde-haired stirred in his sleep, clawing at his bedsheets and curling in on himself to stop the tremors of his body. His teeth clattered and the thick duvet weighing on his body did nothing to help the fact, the warmth that once enveloped him as he dozed to sleep now missing. Reluctantly, he opened his eyes, blinking away the crust that blurred his vision. He felt the weakest bit of warmth from the sunlight flowing into his room from the sheer white curtains that covered the windows. He sat up, wrapping the covers around his shoulders to trap the minuscule amount of warmth that still clung to his body.

He leaned his head on the backrest, the cool air fanning against his face. He felt so cold, that he could practically feel his skin drying out. He wallowed in his self-pity for a bit longer, thoroughly upset with the low temperatures. Eventually, he did convince himself to get out of bed. The faster he got up, the faster he could get into some comfortable, heat-retaining clothes.

He proceeded with his usual morning routine before walking into his and his boyfriend's walk-in closet. He grabbed a fluffy white hoodie with bear ears and a pair of gray plaid pajama bottoms and deemed them good enough. He was almost certain both items were Beomgyu's, but he knew the male wouldn't care if they were. Once dressed, Taehyun slipped a pair of thick, fluffy Christmas socks on his feet before walking out of his and Beomgyu's shared bedroom.

He walked through the living room, past the lit fireplace and the cozy couch with a mountain of blankets on it, and headed straight for the kitchen.

The sizzle of bacon on a pan did wonders for his morning stupor. The fog in his mind had finally lifted when he laid his eyes on the backside of his boyfriend.

"Beomie, why's it so cold?" he spoke in a pout, his cheeks puffing up in feigned anger as his eyebrows furrowed together.

Beomgyu turned around, his startled expression morphing into one of clear endearment. "Good morning to you too, angel." —Taehyun's face scrunched up in distaste at the pet name (but don't let that fool you, he actually loved when Beomgyu called him that). Beomgyu turned back around, flipped the bacon on the pan, and set his utensil down before walking over to Taehyun and entrapping the male in a warm hug.

Taehyun wound his arms around Beomgyu's waist and pressed their bodies impossibly closer, nuzzling his face into his boyfriend's neck as he chased the warmth the elder's body provided. "Good morning, Beom.. Merry Christmas." The tickle of his breath was hot on Beomgyu's neck. Beomgyu couldn't suppress the short chuckle that escaped his lips.

He cradled Taehyun's face in his hands and pulled back to plant a tender kiss on the male's forehead. If Taehyun internally melted at the action, no one had to know. "Merry Christmas, love. The heater went out earlier so I started the fireplace. Figured we could have our breakfast in front of it."

Taehyun hummed in acknowledgment and relished in Beomgyu's warmth for a little while longer. The elder indulged him, running a hand up and down his back while the other carded its fingers through his hair. Taehyun had never felt so warm before this moment.

A hand migrated from Beomgyu's waist to the male's chest, clutching the fabric that covered it as Taehyun looked up into the elder's eyes. "I'll go wait for you there."

"Alright, love. The food should be done soon." A soft peck to Taehyun's lips followed the male's words. Taehyun waited until Beomgyu had turned around to let a toothy smile settle on his face. On his way to sit in front of the fireplace, Taehyun took a blanket from the couch and grabbed the television remote that sat on the coffee table. He wrapped the blanket over his shoulders and slid onto the floor a few feet away from the fireplace and just in front of the coffee table.
