"Stop colouring in the textbook, Bree" Draco snaps, not even looking in my direction as he skims through his novel.

"God, how do you know I'm doing that?" I sigh throwing my potions book onto his desk. His eyes flicker up to the noise, only for second then return back to the book. "You're supposed to be helping me?"

"I am helping you" He laughs picking up a green apple from his nightstand. He takes a large bite out of it and turns the page.

"You're getting me to read the textbook. I can do that on my own thanks"

"Why, do you even need my help. Snape likes you so much he'd probably set you up with a private tutor or worse tutor him yourself" He scoffs.

I lean over to him as he sits smugly on his bed and rip the book from his hand. He leaps up, eyes frantically assessing me trying to figure out my next move. His apple falls to the floor, discarded as he pulls out his Wand. I hang the book out of the window, right above pits of fire that heat up the school. "Draco, is this Pride & Prejudice?"

"Bree, put the book down" He holds his arm and wand up in a sort of surrender, but also sort of preparation for attack. His platinum blonde fringe falls in front of his face as he frowns.

"Tell me what Felix Felicis is used for"

"It's gives the drinker a spell of luck when they do things, for a short time nothing can go wrong." He sighs sitting back down on his bed as I throw the book to him.

"See, was that so hard?" I laugh, popping down onto his desk chair, I grab the quill off the desk and write the answer in my book. In the mirror on Draco's desk i can see he's no longer reading his book but muttering to himself whilst floating the apple above his head. I catch small hints of his words saying it's a classic and Jane Austen is a brilliant author.

"What are you muttering about Draco?" I snap bored of it, it's distracting me from my godforsaken potions which is due tomorrow. I spin round in the chair as the apple is hovering nearer to my head.

"How are you a Ravenclaw?" He lets the apple drop to the floor as his bright blue eyes finally meet mine. His hands go in the air. "I mean, what Ravenclaw willingly puts a book in danger?"

"Being a Ravenclaw is more than just books, Draco. Otherwise don't you think Hermione would be in it."

He rolls his eyes at the mention of Hermione as he brushes a hand through his hair. "Granger doesn't matter." I hate when he's like this, against muggleborns, so purist. Over the past year I've managed to get to know Hermione, she's sweet and very talented. Just because she doesn't have witch parents doesn't mean a thing. Most of the Slytherins believe this, but I like to think this is one of the reasons why I'm a Ravenclaw, because I look at the facts. If somebody's a good person, It's because they've done good things not because of who their parents are. Draco believes the opposite. Which is why I still don't understand how we've been friends for this long. Knowing him since he was 3, he still hasn't changed, he's completely spoilt, has massive daddy issues and is purest. But I still feel the incessant need to protect him.  "Everyone knows you should be a Slytherin"

I've been hearing this since I've started Hogwarts. Why is she in Ravenclaw? Do you know who her parents are? The sorting hat must've got her wrong. It's so tiring hearing you're in the wrong place constantly. Especially when the one thing you're trying to do is fit in. Which is incredibly hard when your father is a death eater and you're put in Ravenclaw. It's hard having a death eater as a Father in Slytherin but at least you have others in the same position. I have no one which is why Draco keeps pushing me to complain and swap. But no-body swaps houses. And besides I don't mind my house. I like the fact everybody gets on with whatever they're doing and no-body really cares about whats weird or annoying. They do love learning though. Not sure how i feel about that. But I can't be that bad at school if it's my house. Much to Draco's surprise. "Well I'm not, Draco. Am I? So I don't know what you expect from me?"
