I don't understand tests. They are the most stressful things a muggle could've created. But Marianne loves them? Why would you put a bunch of hormonal teenage wizards under intense pressure and force them to remember stuff? It's cruel.

"Marianne, how are your notes so pretty." I say taking her perfectly pristine page. Her potions notes are immaculate. No ink smudges. No colour clashing. And all the information for the test.

"They are not pretty. They're not in cursive."

"Mari" I whisper. The Ravenclaw common room is always intensely quiet. A large space with the sound of running water rushing through it. But it's not sound proof. "They're fucking amazing."

"Oh my god." She slaps the table, her eyes widen. "Aaron Walker is totally checking you out."

I look over at the brunette boy sitting in the corner with two of his mates. His bright blue eyes meet mine and I turn away. "He's alright." I shrug

"Alright! He's fucking delectable."

I laugh "You're so weird. I'm so bored!" I slam my head onto the desk. I pull out my wand. Phoenix feather core. 11 inches. I lift whatever's directly opposite me. It's not that heavy and floating it is easy. I hear multiple groans as when I look up a butter-beer bottle is floating in the air from another 5th years desk. They stare at me with daggers but i can't be bothered to float it back to them so it goes straight into my hand. It's already open so I sip it gently. The sweet taste coming my down my throat.

I hear a Cho groan loudly. "We all know she should be a Slytherin"

That's it. I've already had a terrible morning getting a detention with Trelawney was enough for me. Then finding out I have a potions topic test. Then I find out we're supposed to be playing Slytherin in Quidditch today for a last minute practice match. And that's it.

"We all know you should mind your own business Cho" I snap, turning around.

I know she's struggling. I really do. But we're all struggling. With Cedric dying last year she's been on edge, but to say that after me taking a butter-beer is just mere insensitive. Of course she blames me. They'll always blame us.

"Ugh I'm just so done." I take another sip

"Girl we're all done" Mari takes the drink from my hand and chugs half of it down.

"Oi. Save it" I snatch it back.

I instantly hear the waters shift as a new presence walks into the common room. They're all out of sinc. I turn around as a voice chimes in to match the melody. "Don't worry about them, Bree. They're all a bit stressed like you."

"I know Luna. Thanks"

"Do you want a calming bean. They're ripe this time of year." She pulls three blue beans out of her pocket along with a penny, a bit of fluff and a tiny mouse.

"Luna" Marianne asks wearily "These aren't drugs right?"

"No. My Ma used to give them to me all the time. Perfectly harmless."

"Well then we'll have one then" We lay our hands out as she places one for each of us.

We throw them into our mouths. At first the taste of sea salt fills my mouth. Like a beach, the texture of sand. It turns to the taste of soil, then melted chocolate. The flavour turns and twist until i feel as though I've tasted the entire school grounds. Marianne's eyes are shut as she waits for it to stop. She slowly opens one eye to check it's clear. Then the other one.

"When does it kick in?" She asks.

"About half an hour. Shouldn't you be preparing for the game?"

"Oh crap thanks Luna" I run straight to my dorm room. Sprinting up the stairs. Mari will put my stuff away. I quickly change into my quidditch uniform. The tight fabric practically suffocating me. My broom is down in the changing rooms with the rest of my gear. I chuck my wand on my bed and run back down to the pitch. I'm late and my whole team is already there.
