Chapter 2: A happy Family

The demon's eyes had finally opened, his eyes had met with the ceiling above, he realized he was on a bed covered in bandages from hands to chest, he scans the room trying to figure out how he got here. Just a moment ago he was being chased by a mob of villagers. He couldn't comprehend why he was here. Before he could think about it, he was startled by Asta popping out of thin air starting the demon.

Asta: Hello.

???: Wah!! Who're you!? Where'd you come from!? How'd I get here?!

Asta: Woah calm down. We found you just outside our house.

???: Y-your house? Wait, we?

Asta: Yeah we, me and my mama. This is our room, if you didn't know? Wait hang on, I better call mom.

???: Wa-Wait!

The boy quickly dashed to the door, calling his mother. As soon as he did, loud and quick could be heard from outside the room coming from Lictia who quickly rushed in to see the demon.

Lictia: *gasp* oh good you're awake, thank goodness. For a second I thought you were... Never mind, how are you feeling?

???: wha-just wh-who are you people.

Lictia: Oh sorry, my name is Lictia, this is my son Asta.

Asta: Hi

Lictia: What's yours?

???: My what?

Lictia: Your name, oh come on, don't tell me you don't have a name.

???:...

Lictia: Oh my goodness, you really don't have a name?

Asta: Aww, that's kinda sad.

???: Only the strongest demons have names, I'm just weak and pathetic.

Lictia: Oh, poor thing. Oh why don't I name you?

???: Wait what?! But we only just met, why would you name me, why bother helping me!? I'm a demon, aren't you scared?!

Lictia: pfft, who cares if you're a little different, me and my son are different too ya know.

???: I don't understand- Wait look out!

There was a snake right next to Lictia. Right as it was near her, the snake fell right onto the floor lifeless.

Lictia: Oops, sorry whenever people get too close to me, I accidentally steal their mana and they end up dying, it's unsettling I know, it's because of my curse that- wait a minute, you- you're ok right

???: I guess, I'm feeling abit bett-

He was immediately cut off by Lictia holding both of his cheeks with her palms, she stared into his eyes waiting for something to happen. But nothing, nothing happened. She couldn't believe it, nothing happened, never in her life that she would be happy that nothing happened, it was to a point where she even hugged the demon with all of her might.

???: ugh, hey could you let go of me !?

Lictia: Oh I'm sorry, I'm just really happy to have met someone like you, Asta did you see that, I couldn't take his magic, you know what that means right?

Asta brain made ticking noises before it clicked on him.

Asta: *Gasp* He's like me?

???: Wait, are you saying you don't have magic either?

Asta nodded vigorously.

Asta: That means you and me are the same, and it also means you and I can be friends!
