DANGEROUS

I stayed quiet as I watched the lady who stopped my perfect but wrong kiss. Delvis was gone after promising to text me. I was a little devastated and the headache was settling. Claire watched with a look I couldn't read. "Why would you do that to your best friend. Devi would be hurt when she finds out Mara? Why would you allow this?" She huffed. "I know Claire but I really like Delvis. He was there when I needed someone and support, He cared..." I said quietly looking on the ground. I heard Claire sigh before coming to the bed. She sat with her backing facing me. " Mara, You shouldn't make some mistakes that will mess you up in the future. Remember Devi was the only one who stayed. Don't mess it up" Claire got up and patted my leg. "Come down, we are having Banku for dinner." She said giving me a small smile. I nodded and got up to shower. I was sad I did that to Devi. But what about me? I saw Delvis first right?...


The singer sang so loud that everyone made faces. I chucked and turned to Caleb, " You know what?,other people registered for this but Wendy paid for this role. She rigged it." Caleb said laughing. I laughed along when I understood." I didn't know they did that " I said. We continued talking and laughing at bad acts. It was a program at the school for new college students. The principal talked and other important people then my parents would. I was always here for each year, watching how people laughed to their jokes as they spoke wondering why they couldn't make me laugh indoors like they did for them.

I guess that's how it was supposed to be ,they had all that money.
I was still thinking of what to do with it when I turn eighteen. I laughed again at Caleb's joke about a girl dancing. Just then, I saw Devi and Delvis enter with a sour face. What was going on?
I watched them till Delvis looked my way. We looked at each other till I broke eye contact and watched Devi too.
She was frowning momentarily before giving a cute smile towards my way. I smiled back at her before sending my attention to Caleb again.


I went to the drinks table to have a drink, I was thirsty and a little exhausted. I mean I was getting better but the headache was here and there. Stella pulled through so I guess that's why I'm getting better. Stella was to be discharged soon. I picked the drink to my lips..."Oh my Go..." Someone pulled me making the glass fall. My hair fell all over my face. " What the heck!" I shouted, getting the hair out off my face. It was Delvis. "What is wrong with you?! Why would you do that!" I snapped. " I broke up with Devi, heck I don't know why I dated her. It was you I wanted. I guess I thought if I dated her I'd get closer to you but she always wanted to be alone with me ,Mara. I like you and only you. Please give me a chance. I hate the way he make you laugh. I want to make you laugh!". " You broke up with my best friend and you never liked her?,Delvis are you ok? Why would you do that?" I asked a little annoyed. " Because I think I've fallen in love with you." Delvis said. "Huh?" I gasped." Yes Mara, it's you I love. Please give me a chance. " He begged. I shook  my head no crying. " I can't, I can't" I said still shaking my head.
" Why?" He said. " Because Caleb is my boyfriend, he asked a week ago and I accepted,I like him. I can't do this to him." I said sobbing. Delvis watched me quietly. I watched him too shaking my head . He surprised me by kissing me. I froze and my eyes popped with surprise. Not again!... I ended up kissing him back. He raised me up pushing my back into the lockers behind me . The kiss got faster and wetter as he squeezed my waist softly. I held him tighter loving the feel of his touch and lips on mine. I opened my eyes for a brief moment to see a shadow lurking around. I broke the kiss and pushed Delvis away.
"No, we can't do this. You broke up with Devi but I didn't with Caleb so please stay away." I said as I fixed my hair and dress.
"Good bye Delvis..."
