I looked at the detective with the same determination he watched me with, matching his stance. It was almost three hours since I came here. They've been asking the same question over and over, and I gave the same answer each time.

"Why would you kill your classmate?"They'd ask. " I won't talk until my lawyer comes, and I know perfectly well I have that right!" I'd snap. A lot gave up except one determined guy who kept pressing. I took my mind off the man and remembered how I saw Delvis rushing into the police station, shouting about my illegal arrest. My heart melted at the act because I clearly remembered he was nowhere to be found when I was taken away. Claire's voice was being heard the whole time trying to fight for me. They said it was not time for a lawyer to come in, and I knew it was a lie. They were infringing on my rights, so I decided not to talk.

It was now twelve hours in, and my lawyer was being called on...

"My client is not guilty, and I know you people came for her on the wrong bases. You have no proof that she killed the girl. According to my sources, you only saw a video of her leaving the place, and she had her solid reason, so I demanded that you let her out!." My lawyer concluded. I smiled and flipped the bird at the detectives as they sighed in defeat.

"I told you I'd leave," I said, and we left the place. That's all Ghana police could do, Baseless arguments!

We got home tired, frustrated, and hungry. Aunt Claire kept apologising about being a bad guardian to me. She couldn't stop crying when we reached the extent that she ran into Stella's open hands to cry about it. I watched with awe as she did all that. She loved me and not for my money. I decided I'd give her a chance after all these matters die down...

I walked into the school hallway with all the students parting ways for me to pass. The whispers and murmurs were loud enough for me to hear. I walked with my head high. 'She's still walking straight!' One said. 'A murderer!' Another said. A lot kept ringing in my head. I continued walking towards the washroom. I needed air or peace.

I ended up crying. All this was building up in my heart, my mind, my whole existence.

It was hurting again, and I almost forgot this ache. Maybe it's supposed to be part of my life. This pain was too much. I cried a little longer before getting out. The third bell had gone already. It was time for a break. Everyone was coming out of their classes. I cleared my face as I looked into the mirror. I went out with my bold stance again, preventing any eye contact.

I entered the canteen looking for Caleb as I felt more eyes and whispers directed at me. What was going on again? Ugh!!

I spotted Caleb with some other girls talking. I went to the table and pushed them aside. " Caleb, can we talk?" I asked. Caleb, for the first time, watched me. He looked with mixed emotions swarming on his face. I backed away a little when my anger showed more. " What's wrong?"I asked. "

She got to be kidding. Do you mean you've not seen the video?" She asked with a look of pathetic. I turned to her, then Caleb again. " No, which video?" I asked. Caleb ignored me. " This one you whore!" She said shoving her phone in my face. There I was with Delvis kissing by the lockers in the dark. It had a caption, ' I kill and steal boyfriends '. I looked on quietly. " I guess I should understand why Devi never came again and why you never answered why, Caleb spoke for the first time. " Caleb, I can explain..." I was cut short by a hard push. As I raised my head to see my attacker, a hard slap connected with my face. " You traitor!" She shouted. The only person with that voice is Devi. And so I slowly raised my head to watch my best friend...
