Fluttershy's cottage, many moons later
"Sun's pursuer had finally crossed paths with her, and she wasn't about to let her slip away. Her name was Death Drive. Her heart was as black as night, and her heart burned with hatred as hot as the Phlegethon River. Her every word was ridden with venom more vicious than all of the ivy she stumbled over in her pursuit. She was running towards a dream, and she would do whatever it took to stop anyone from getting in her way... even if it meant she had to do something unspeakable. The two clashed in the dead of night, and in the end... only one of them was able to see the dawn."
The streets of Ponyville, many moons ago
After the day she just had, it was safe to say Sun was exhausted. After a long and nerdy discussion with Twilight on their favorite myths, the conversation finally came to an end after three hours. By now, it was dark out, and Sun was planning to go to sleep just as she returned home, despite the obvious fact that she'll likely have to deal with another nightmare.
But then, she noticed something - something she'd unconsciously noticed before, but chose to ignore: black mist that flooded through the town, darkening it even more than it already was. As Sun trotted through the blackened town, she began to feel uneasy as she noticed that nobody was around. It looked as if she was completely alone.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of a melody being whistled, coming from behind her. Startled, she almost-instantly turned around, but was met with nothing. Suddenly, a voice spoke from the direction she had turned away from.
The voice spoke with a playful, yet insulting tone, "I'm over here, you idiot." Sun turned again, and was met with quite a sight: on the roof of a house, directly under the glow of the moonlight sat a pale-coated unicorn who stared at her with eyes souless, yet full of anger. She wore an intricately-designed gothic-styled black dress, adorned with multiple golden charms that hung from her skirt like Christmas ornaments. The... unique look of the pony caught Sun completely by surprise. Who in Tartarus is that?
The pale unicorn spoke again, in a condescending manner. "Look at you. You're so arrogant, it's sickening!" she spoke again, as her horn began to gather magical energy. "You're just so special, aren't you?! But you KNOW you don't deserve it!"
Sun became confused, "Huh?" she uttered.
The mysterious unicorn began to get emotional, her voice shaking with rage as she continued, "I deserve to be Twilight's apprentice, not you! You little...!"
The energy she had gathered began to form into the shape of a sickle, making her horn look as though it had a crescent-shaped blade attached to it. Sun began to slowly back away from the unicorn as she spoke. Sun was clearly terrified, and trying to escape.
"YOU'RE NOT LEAVING!" However, the unicorn was quick to notice.
She quickly regained her composure as Sun quivered, frozen with fear.
"My name is Death Drive, and I'll make sure you remember it! YOU'RE NOT GETTING IN MY WAY!"
She lunged towards Sun, slashing the unicorn across her muzzle, sending her flying into the dirt. Death Drive galloped towards the yellow unicorn, but before she could land another blow, Sun shot a beam of magic directly into Death Drive's chest, causing her to flinch. Like a brazen bull, she went to slash Sun again, but she dodged out of the way just before she could be hit. Picking herself up, she suddenly began to feel a bit sick.
She didn't know it, but behind her, two black, spectral fists appeared from what appeared to be summoning portals that formed in the air. Neither of them had ever seen magic like this before, and as Death Drive stood gawking at Sun's power, the yellow unicorn decided to quip about it.
"Two c-can play at– play at that game, idiot." she stuttered, ruining any punch that her quip could have had.
"Wh-what is this?" Death Drive snarled, fearful, but still trying to appear intimidating.
"I have no idea." Sun replied, simply and honestly.
Swiftly, the hands struck Death Drive with a powerful punch that sent her flying into a nearby wall. Sun expected her to howl in pain, and ideally, maybe even run off. But all the pale unicorn did was glare at her.
"I'm not gonna waste my time... I'LL KILL YOU!"
("Red Moon" from Bayonetta 3)
The two fought each other vigorously - blade fought against fists. Death Drive was relentless, but the fists Sun summoned didn't falter.
"I won't let you take everything from me! I've worked so hard, yet you just come in and--"
But Death Drive's words fell on deaf ears. It became background noise as Sun focused on trying to avoid the pale unicorn's vicious blade swipes. However, she knew she couldn't keep dodging forever, and soon enough, one strike of the pale unicorn's magic blade struck her, and several more strikes were to follow.
Sun suddenly found herself on the ground, dirty and beaten. In horror, she looked up to see Death Drive standing above her, her blade now looking almost like a guillotine that was about to come down on her. But just as it was about to...
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!!" Sun screeched.
She was met with silence at first. Death Drive was about to lose it. She began to growl with an almost feral ferocity, and then... she hit Sun in the face. She was shocked, not expecting an attack so simple. But then, once she recovered, she noticed it was just a distraction. She saw many, many bats gather around Death Drive's body, and they seemingly began to devour her.
Once they flew away, there was no body to be seen. But despite Sun's shock, she swore she could hear the voice of the unicorn in the winds, talking to her in an eerily calm tone.
"You're disgusting. I hate you. I'll be back for you. Just wait."
After that, the black mist faded away, and the normal night sky returned.
"Great. Another enemy." Sun groaned.
