The sun was warm on my face as I stood in the familiar field. I held the chicken feed in my apron, spreading it around. It had been a long summer. Longer than I had in the past. Exhausting was an understatement.

Ominis, Sebastian, and I were all very close during fifth year. We were an inseparable trio. Things took a turn for the worse towards the end of the year. After Sebastian had the battle with Solomon, Anne left.

Sebastian did not handle Anne's absence well. Ominis and I agreed that we could not leave him alone. Sebastian was devastated. The early days were the worst. Ominis and I did everything we could to help him through it.

School would be starting in a little more than a week now. We had made it through most of the summer and things were calming down. There was still no sign of Anne or any word from her. She was ignoring all of Sebastian's letters and wouldn't respond to him.

She had responded to Ominis once but neither he nor I had the heart to tell Sebastian that. All we could do was comfort him and let him know that she was okay, even if we couldn't tell him how we knew that.

We weren't sure if he would return to school for sixth year, but he shocked us last week when he joined us to get school supplies two days ago. It was a shock for everyone as Poppy and Natty had both joined us as well.

The sun was rising higher in the sky, hitting me just in my eyes. I squinted as I continued walking through the field, spreading the chicken feed as I went. I heard footsteps behind me and turned to meet the gaze of a glowing red light.

Ominis was walking towards me, the sleeves of his white shirt pushed up as his black suspenders moved gently with his shoulders for every step he took. He lowered his wand as he grew closer, tucking it into the pocket of his pants.

"There you are. I was surprised when I didn't hear you in the kitchen as I usually do around this time." Ominis said softly. I turned my head back to the chickens.

"I decided to feed the chickens first. I woke up a bit later than I normally do." I replied, feeling the feed slip through my fingers as I sprinkled it.

"I'm glad you got some extra rest. You deserve it. Especially after everything you do around here." He responded as he took another small step forward.

There was a sense of comfort when I was in Ominis' presence. He towered over me. He had some sort of growth spurt during the summer. His height always surprised me as I often forgot how tall he was now. The top of my head barely reached the top of his chest.

I could feel him standing just behind me. Somehow, he always knew just when to stop without bumping completely into me. It's like he knew exactly where I was at all times.
