Fate No. 5 Remember or Forget

Ellis' POV

The task I created will determine if you truly cherish each other. Each of you should remember one memory recently surrendered to me and recall your names. If you win, all recently surrendered memories will return; if not, you'll forget everything for the rest of your lives.

"Who is that guy sitting there?" I ask her.

"Well, it's someone you forgot about," Fate laughs.

"Why are you laughing?" I ask.

"I just feel it's going to be a great task for you two," Fate states.

I walk towards him and sit.

"Hi! Can I talk to you?" I ask politely.

"Why are you here? Who are you? Are you gonna kill me?" He questions, making me feel afraid.

"What? I just want to fulfill my task by knowing your name and remembering the surrendered memory," I explain.

"Why do you ask me? I can't help you," he states.

"But Fate said you can help me, and you are someone I forgot about," I softly reply.

He's staring at me.

"Whose fate? I'm gonna kill her! She makes you crazy like that!" He loudly states.

"Please, help me. I want to get outta here to help my... Huh!? Who am I gonna help?" I ponder.

"If you're wasting my time, just go away and never come back," he says, glaring.

What should I do? I feel like he's hating me. I want to talk to him and fulfill this task.

I need to think...

The last task I did was saving Kenzo, but I know that I have someone with me.

Is it him? I question myself.

"Hey! Do you remember something with me? Like we fulfilled a task to save my childhood friend Kenzo? Please talk to me." I beg him.

"Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too when I first saw you here. I know that we saved someone here," he softly says.

"Okay! And after that, Fate appeared again and suddenly made this task, and I can't remember anything."

"What should we do?" he asks.

"To fulfill the task, we need to know our names and remember a memory that we surrendered to her recently," I softly explain.

I'm just thinking that he's someone special to me because we fulfilled a task together.

"So what's your name?" he asks me.

"Sadly, I can't remember it because we surrendered memories to Fate," I admit.

"Me too. I can't remember anything, and my head is hurting, but I think I saw you before," he says.

"Where is it?" I ask.

"I can't remember the place, but I know that I gave my lunch box to you, filled with meat, fried rice, veggies, a sunny-side-up egg, and my big water bottle."

"So, if it's a lunch box, probably it's at school. We were like schoolmates before?" I suggest.

"I think so. But not just schoolmates because I also remember that sometimes I rode a bicycle with you," he stated.

"Yeah, I think we were best friends before?" I state.

"No, it's not like that," he says, and his head starts hurting.
