"Dreamcatcher in the rearview mirror. Hasn't caught a thing yet. Twenty dollars in souvenirs. Anything's worth tryin'." Shay and Carl's CD plays in the CD player as Shay sits in the rocking chair in her bedroom and Ace is sat at her feet

"To stay out of your nightmares. Few hours in your dream last night. Always end up dying. You said because of course I did." The CD player sings, as Shay rocks slightly in the chair

Her eyes were sunken in, red and puffy. Her brown messy braid was threw over her left shoulder. Her voice was hoarse from crying, and her lips were red and cracking. If she had been anything other than numb she'd be exhausted

"Always managed to move in right next to cemeteries. And never far from hospitals. I don't know what that tells you about me. Pulling thorns out of my palm. Working midnight surgery. When you cut a hole into my skull." The CD player sings

It had been four months since Daryl had left. Shay had hardly moved from the chair that sat in her bedroom. Her fingers raw and dried with blood from Daryl's arrow he had left. She had twisted the sharp end in her fingertips numerous times, not even flinching when it would inevitably slice her skin

"Do you hate what you see? Like I do." The CD player sings

Her heart ached for him. He had come into her life and became it. His smell still lingered on his flannel that she hardly ever took off

"Shay?" Rosita calls out as she steps into Shay's bedroom

"Hey, Gorgeous." Rosita says with a soft smile as she squats down in front of Shay

"Oh, Honey. You're doing it again." She says as she notices her bloodied hands

"C'mon." Rosita says as she slowly helps her up from the chair
