THE END OF A MARRIAGE

Emmeline stood looking out the window of her bedroom, not moving, not blinking. She had lost track of how long she had exactly been standing there. Things were changing. They had changed the minute the human walked into their lives.

Emmeline was happy and she thought her husband, Edward was too, until he started to pull away from her. Leaving for Alaska without a goodbye, a reason, or an I love you, coming back and disappearing all the time for hours, hardly spending anytime with her or even talking to her, instead he was always around the human.

Emmeline didn't understand any of it. What happened? Where did it all go wrong? Was she not good enough?She thought they were in love and happy, guess she was wrong all along. She sighed as she rested her head on the window and closed her eyes.

Emmett, Emmeline's big brother by blood, stood by the doorway of her room with his arms crossed, and a frown on his face, watching his baby sister fall apart all because of Edward and some human. Oh, how badly he wanted to rip Edward apart and burn the pieces for hurting his baby sister after he promised Emmett he never would. Emmett sighed softly and walked over to her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Emmie?" He called out to her softly, causing her to open her eyes and look up at him. The look in her eyes broke Emmett's undead heart and the hate for Edward grew. Her eyes looked so lost, so broken, he hated it

"Rose and I are going to go out hunting but we won't be far. okay?" Emmeline didn't say anything back, just nodded her head and looked back out the window. Emmett sighed once again and placed a kiss on the side of her head, "I love you." He whispered before heading out. He looked back at his sister one more time and as he closed the door he heard her whisper, "I love you too."

Emmeline watched as Edward pulled into the driveway. She knew it was time to end this once and for all, for her own sanity. And if being with the human makes him happy then she was going to let him go. All she has every wanted for him is to be happy.

Edward stepped out of his car, and feeling eyes on him, looked up and saw Emmeline standing at her bedroom window staring at him.

{Can we talk?} She thought, he nods slightly and next thing she knows hes standing beside her.

"I can't do this anymore." She tells him softly, "I want a divorce."

Edward looked at her sadly and sat down on the love seat, "Emmeline....I don't....I don't even know what to say. Or what's going on."

'Whatever it is Edward, this, us isn't going to work anymore. It's not fair to me, it's not fair to you." She tells him. Edward nods, looking down, not saying anything.

"It's okay." Emmeline whispers, "I understand I don't make you happy anymore and that's okay cause all I want is for you to be happy."

"I do love you Emmeline." Edward said as he stood up and walked over to her.

"Just not like you used to, I know. If ever." Emmeline said as she looked back out the window.

Edward gently grabbed her chin and turned her face towards him, looking in her eyes all he sees is hurt and it makes his undead heart break knowing he is the cause of that hurt. He cups her face and learns down placing his lips on hers. Emmeline closes her eyes and reaches for his wrists.

"Em." He pressed his forehead to hers. Emmeline pulls away and looks back out the window. Edward sighs sadly and looks down.

"Can you go?" She whispers, "Just for a few hours....I need time."

"Yeah, whatever you need Emmeline." Edward said before walking out the door, "I am sorry Emmeline."

She didn't say anything until she saw him leave in his car, "I'm not so sure you are." She whispers and falls to her knees leaning against the glass, staring out into the woods.
