Summer, 2010 - 2 years before the storyline
THE BELL RANG FOR THE START OF lunch and the students either immediately stood up from their seats or they pulled out their lunches.
Daichi turned from his seat so he was facing the dark haired girl, a grin forming on his face. "Ready to have lunch with us?"
The girl dipped her head, albeit hesitantly. "Sure."
Sugawara was already at the front of the door, waiting for them. "Shall we, then? We'll take you to our spot."
The duo took the lead while she awkwardly trailed behind them, the two males eventually stopping at a bench right outside of one of the school's exits.
There were two people already seated there with their lunches pulled out. One, a male with slightly wavy chestnut brown hair, matching eyes, and a sturdy build, and a stunning, somewhat familiar girl with shoulder-length black, almost blue hair tied into twin tails and pink rectangle-framed glasses.
"Sorry we're a little late. We brought someone to join us," Daichi gestured to the newcomer, who slowly stepped out from behind him.
"Mirinae-san, this is Azumane Asahi from Class 3. He's on the volleyball team with me and Suga. And you may recognize Shimizu," the grey-haired first year informed. "Asahi, Shimizu, this is Shin Mirinae, our classmate and group partner. Daichi and I invited her to eat with us."
"Hi." Mirinae gave them a small wave. One looks really strong and the other is intimidatingly pretty.
"H-Hello, Shin-san. It's nice to meet you," Asahi returned the gesture, albeit awkwardly.
"Hello." Kiyoko nodded her head in acknowledgment in the girl's direction.
Daichi chuckled seeing the girl's tenseness as he unpacked his bento. "Don't worry about Asahi. He might look like someone who'd beat you senseless, but he's nothing more than a softie."
