In the 18th district, there was no sudden live broadcast of the portal that had appeared. Only a small article in the local newspaper mentioned briefly, "There were many casualties."

The taxi driver hiding beneath the cave was shocked when he saw Eui Hyun, covered in blood. Initially mistaking him for a monster, the driver felt the urge to attack, but Eui Hyun restrained him.

As the taxi rattled along the unpaved road, Eui Hyun leaned his head against the window, feeling exhausted.

"Hey, is the student okay? You were running really fast. Are you into track or something?"

"No."

"Well, even if you do track and field, it's not unusual to lift an adult man. Or is it possible to have some kind of ability or something like that?"

"Don't talk; I'm tired."

"Geez, so touchy..."

Eui Hyun was irritated by the chatty driver. If the taxi driver hadn't ventured into the neighborhood out of boredom, Eui Hyun wouldn't have had to confront the cult.

But he didn't want to think about anything anymore. Kwon Eui Hyun was currently in a state of extreme exhaustion. There was no place to relax, be it school, home, or the mansion.

"Hey."

Yun Hwa, who was sitting huddled in the back seat, was startled at Eui Hyun's call and flinched slightly.

"Even if you were shocked, there was no other choice. It was the best option."

"But Mom and Dad..."

"I don't know. There's no way to know."

When Eui Hyun coldly replied, Yun Hwa, with a pouty face, formed tears in his eyes.

"He's even talking coldly to a child! At that age, parents are supposed to be the sky and the world, but oh well. It's pitiful; what should I do..."

The driver, as if urging Eui Hyun to listen, loudly exclaimed while comforting Yun Hwa.

Although he questioned why Eui Hyun hadn't saved his parents, Yun Hwa simply shed tears quietly. Perhaps it was the same in the past. When the whole town went up in flames due to the fire he caused, there was probably no way for him to do anything but cry. After all, he was just a middle school student at that time.

"Sigh, just rest."

Even if he couldn't see, he must have heard. What in the world had happened in that church?

Though it was unlikely that a child who had experienced such a bizarre event could sleep peacefully, Eui Hyun still placed his hand on Yun Hwa's eyes.

"It's okay to think about the complicated stuff after you've slept and woken up."

"Will it get better after sleeping and waking up?"

Eui Hyun's palm was damp. Normally, he would recoil at the touch of someone else's bodily fluids, but today, it strangely seemed okay.

"We'll have to see after you've slept and woken up."

"..."

"Sleep well."

His whole body ached as if he had caught a cold. Having slept only about two hours a day for the past few days, it seemed like his body had finally given in. Eui Hyun leaned his head against the window and unknowingly fell into a heavy sleep.

Fortunately, the incident that was expected to take several days to resolve was settled in just one day, but unfortunately, his physical condition wasn't great.
