I wake up around midnight to a wet rag moving across my cheek and bottom lip. When my eyes adjust to the dim light, I look to my right and see Lay sitting next to the bed giving me a small smile. I sit up slowly and groan, my body is so damn sore after getting tackled twice today, a massage is very much needed. I look around but don't see Ari making me frown in confusion, I know I fell asleep in the car, but I don't remember ending up in Lay's bed.
"She's asleep in the little nursery we use when our baby cousins come over. I fed, bathed and changed her and the baby monitor is on." Lay answers all my unspoken questions and I thank her before slowly standing up to stretch.
I get some clothes out of my duffle bag and head to Lay's bathroom. I still have my clothes on from earlier and I'm ready to shower I look in the mirror and grimace at my reflection. I have bruises on my arms and the corner of my mouth is busted, my hair is a mess and I have dark circles around my eyes. I sigh there was nothing I could do about these now I just hope coach doesn't ask a bunch of questions, especially after that little talk. I get in the shower letting the hot water run over my stiff muscles releasing the tension from my body.
I shower for 30 minutes before getting out and doing my regular hygiene routine. I put on a pair of black Under Armor spandex and a black Nike sports bra before cleaning my mess. When I'm finished, I walk out the room and see Lay with my phone in her hand. I look at her weird but don't try to take it, I have nothing to hide because I don't give a fuck about what she sees. She knows I tend to fuck around so it's a risk she must be willing to take.
"Somebody named Diamond text and called you" I frown and take my phone from Lay's outstretched hand. I know for a fact I didn't give this girl my number so how did she get it?
I decide to just ignore it for now, I toss my phone on the bed and look at my best friend who's in similar attire as me and apparently, I'm not the only one that likes what I see. Lay's eyes ate intense as she gives my body a once over from head to toe biting her lip in the process making me smirk. I don't speak as I run moisturizer through my semi wet hair while I give her body the same assessment. Her breast are practically spilling out of her Victoria's Secret sports bra and the weed leaf boxer briefs she's wearing hugs tight against her ass. Her diamond belly button piercing shines in the dim lighting further accentuating her soft smooth skin and toned torso. When she licks her lips and I feel a tingle run down my spine I know it's time for both of us to chill, so I put my hair up and snap my fingers in front of her face.
"Lay my eyes are up here" she shakes her head and looks up with an innocent look as if she hasn't been ogling me since I stepped out the bathroom.
"What?" I don't say anything just give her a knowing smirk. She rolls her eyes and gets off the bed "don't say a word" I laugh and follow her out the room through her mini mansion to the kitchen.
"You hungry?" I shrug, I haven't eaten since the granola bar I stole from Mariah before the game.
"I can eat a little something" I say leaning against the counter. We talk casually about how the game went and what we should expect and work on before the next one as she warms us up some pizza. She sits on the counter, and we eat in silence for a while, she's gone quiet all of the sudden and at first, I thought she was lost in thought, but now she's just staring at me. I tilt my head to the side and look at her "what's wrong?"
"Are you okay Dré?" I frown confused waiting for her to elaborate but she doesn't.
"I'm fine, what's going on Lay?" A lone tear runs down her cheek and I immediately get worried. I push my plate aside and walk over to her wiping her cheek with my thumb.
"Talk to me boo what is it?" She takes a deep breath to compose herself and looks at me with a little pout that's so cute I have to refrain from rubbing her lip that she's poking out.
