Part I

The assembly ground is filled with cheerful noises all around. Well this does feel like the start of a new session, I just love these time of the year. The choir group adjusting the instruments and practicing the opening song of the year. Boys in the corner making remarks about each other's look and at this time of the year, some of them just seem to have a glow up. Girls rushing at eachother, hugging and exceptionally talking in high pitch voice made them look like long lost sisters. And just when I was about to make some remarks about them to Daka, I saw our long lost sister from Dibang house* making her way to us directly from the entrance.

Sophie(Panting and hugging us tightly at the same time)-
Why are you still in your blazers I know it's cold, but comeon don't humiliate March like this.

Sophie got her hair tied in a low pony tail like everytime and she was holding a book in her hand, again like everytime and looks extremely excited like every single time, I wonder from where do she packed up so much of energy especially on the first day of school.

Daka-(Daka looks extremely confused while reading the book that Sophie was holding)-
'I'm glad my mom died'Why would you read such a book?

Sophie-
Don't go by the name, it's written by Jannet Mc Curdy, who was a child actress, so in this bookshe describe her toxic relationship with her mo. It's not too narcissistic, I promise.

Delaney-
Yep, even I know about it.

Sophie has always been interested in books, she always carry one all around and her personality often mesmerize me and talking about her physique, honestly I didn't see her change much throughout these 4 years, she still look the same like the first time I saw her in class VI .

And just when we were indulging in our conversation, the bell rang as an indication to stand in a line for the morning assembly. I wonder who came up with this idea to strain your legs early morning. Daka and I stood in our line because we belong to the same block (Gangotri house)while Sophie made her way to her's.We were quite tall in comparison to others so we stood behind and this place do give us alot of privacy as teachers hardly inspect the back of the line.

Everybody rushed to their respective position while teachers made their way to the Assembly ground. It is mandatory for all students to be present in the ground 10 minutes prior to the assembly timing, but the teacher always join late. I wonder why can't the same rule be applied to them.

Teachers often feel like celebrity I guess, while coming from the entrance, our History teacher, who looks chill as ever, PT teacher whose always angry about something or the other, our pregnant English ma'am who still haven't got her maternity leave, I guess our Maths Teachers who is always in a rush and.......

Delaney (while tapping Daka's shoulder confused)-
Who is that?

We saw a women in saree and a black blazer who look so put together and seem of 40-45 years of age. She had a tall physique and carried a file underneath her arm)

Daka ( whispering)-
I don't know, she doesn't look much like a teacher. Maybe she's our new principal because I guess Raman Joshi got retired this session and they have also given him a farewell party.

Delaney( nodding)-
Maybe, she looks abit strict.

Daka-
Dela that don't concern me much because who is that new guy walking along with her.

When Daka ask me that I realised a boy beside her who was in our school uniform, he was of a medium
height and had a swarthy complexion. His figure was lean, lean enough to make him look like a hanger of his school uniform, he looked abit clueless while looking at his surroundings and he kept on trying to loosen his tie and adjusting it, maybe because he felt suffocated.
