An attack against EarthRealm was led by Baraka and his army of Tarkatans, leaving nothing but destruction and death behind. That was what Jay was told. Her mission was to look for and take care of possible survivors of the attack, Raiden himself had given these orders to her, and she would make sure to obey them.

As heartless as she seemed, Jay wasn't always so cold to others as she was now. No, life had made her this way. Years before they found themself in this situation, Jay Drax was known as the best blacksmith in all of Edenia, with some going as far as to call her creations pure art. Jay was happy back then, before Shao Kahn came and took over the power by force. It was a dark time for everyone sure, but Shao Kahn's reign had also brought the end of Jay's most beloved friend, Vucky. That was why she promised herself to avenge him, to do everything in her power to bring Shao Kahn to his fall. That was when she joined The White Lotus

Jay had joined the team after a few months of searching, they've seen the good that the alliance were able to do and how pure Raiden's intentions were. And that was what made everything that happened after she joined so hard to believe. As much as she would like, Jay had not been sent alone to this Journey, no. Sitting on the opposite side of the carriage there was a pink figure with violet eyes and a devious smile. Puddles, who came to the White Lotus shortly after Jay had entered, though they didn't know why. They thought, giving Puddles was a sort of Dragon Creature from OutWorld, that Raiden would be sure to expel the demon on sight. He didn't do so. Instead, he welcomed the newcomer into their secret organization just as he did with Jay, though she didn't know why. She never thought Raiden would be able to make mistakes, but it sure looked like something to consider now. The pinkish creature only looked at her, with the same devious grin she had when they first met.

-"You seem a bit... Uncomfortable?". Puddles said, almost in a tone of mockery.

-"Do not talk to me!". Jay snapped, turning her gaze to the window of the carriage.

-"Oh come on!". Puddles continued. -"I mean, if we're gonna be stuck together with this mission, we might as well-"

Her speech was interrupted by Jay throwing a dagger at the demon's direction, landing it inches away from her face, on the carriage seat. Puddles didn't say anything through the rest of the trip.

Soon enough, they arrived at one of the first villages to suffer by the hands of the evil army. The place was now but a bunch of destroyed houses and a few places on fire across the area. Unfortunately, it didn't look like anyone could have survived in these conditions, but Jay would never go against an order from Master Raiden. So out they went, looking over every corner of the village for even the slightest sign of life, but were only met with gruesome scenes of multilated corpses. Those who didn't get torn apart by Baraka and his minions, were found to be crushed by their own homes when everything colapsed.
