Oliver Queen
The Sole Survivor

𝐀𝐍𝐃  𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍  𝐀𝐓  𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐘𝐍, a soft look came to Oliver's eyes however the none-genuine smile stayed on his face as he flipped his hand rubbing Evelyn's as well.

Deciding to drop the situation for a moment, however it didn't seem as if he had a choice as Raisa, one of the workers of the Queen's staff, also someone who raised every child of the queen family, and their childhood friends.

The sweet and kindhearted woman carrying a bowl of pears in order to set them on the table, although as she stepped over, it just so happens she tripped.

Causing her to nearly fall forwards, a gasp leaving Evelyn's mouth as she was the closest near Raise, yet if not for Oliver who suddenly reached out his arm catching the older woman and helping her right herself.

"Oh, I am so sorry, Mr. Oliver." Raise spoke breathlessly not expecting to haven stumbled on the old carpet, her thick russian accent flowing from her lips.

However the words that flowed out of Oliver's mouth in response seemed to shock the entire table.

'I t ' s - n o - w o r r y . '
"Это не беспокойся. Oliver spoke in fluent russian causing everyone to look over to him, Tommy looking almost comical at how fast his head raised.

Even Raisa herself looking shocked at Oliver's ability to speak her mother language, only ever communicating with one of the children that she watched grow into leading adults.

That child being Evelyn, who added an advanced russian class to her schedule when she went for her PhD in Technology which was her first of three that she'd earned after Oliver's death.

After weeks of being stuck in her room, she'd gotten an acceptance letter from New York University, the very college that her father had met her mother.

The college that her and Oliver had planned to go to after he'd dropped out of the first three, however a few months before the first sailing of The Queen's Gambit he'd quit that too.

'w h e n ' d - y o u - l e a r n - r u s s i a n ? '
"когда ты выучил русский?"   Russian flowed from Evelyn's mouth as well, the girl tiling her head at Oliver who turned to her his expression faltering for a moment.

This was something he'd expected, but hadn't planned for something to be different when he'd gotten back, he'd especially not planned for Evelyn to know Russian.

Although he couldn't say that despite the rather harsh pronunciation that came along with speaking Russian, he found both the way she looked at him and the way she spoke sexy.

"Are you two speaking russian," Tommy asked looking between his two friend, completely unaware of either of their bilingual status. "when'd you learn that?"

"College." Evelyn spoke out blandly not taking her eyes off of Oliver, still confused as to how he knew Russian, although her hand hadn't left Oliver's just yet.

However before the returning man could speak out his own reason, Walter taking Evelyn's answer as Oliver's answer as well, spoke up in a surprised tone.

"I didn't realize you took Russian at college, Oliver." He said happily the topic of the office was over, trying to fall back into the calm atmosphere, but not everyone was okay with his presence.

"I didn't realize you wanted to sleep with my mother, Walter." Oliver spoke in a fake happy tone as he looked Walter dead in the eye, already knowing why the man was here, especially after he was invited to stay for dinner.

However his words clearly choked Evelyn, who did a double take so quick she'd choked on the saliva in her mouth, before silence quickly filled over the room.

The tension that had once died down returning tenfold over everyone, eyes glancing around and meeting around the table in a wonder of who could have told Oliver.

Evelyn and Tommy almost immediately being thrown out of the running as although they were family, that was a lot more personal than any of them had been in years.

So it was no wonder than Moira's eyes turned towards Thea, who, used to being accused of things quickly raised both of her hands, the food she'd been in the middle of eating falling from her mouth.

"I didn't say anything." She groaned throwing up her hands, quickly annoyed by being blamed for everything as she rolled her eyes.

"She didn't have to," Oliver spoke up not expecting Thea to be brought into the conversation although he knew that she knew as well, along with everyone else.  "none of them did."

And hearing his words, Moira couldn't help but nod her head that was the entire point she'd wanted to tell her son about this alongside Walter.

But he'd just returned, she hadn't wanted to bombard him so quickly with the news.

"Oliver," She spoke softly telling him just as she'd wanted to however this was a lot earlier than she'd planned. "Walter and I are married, and I don't want you to think that either one of us did anything to disrespect your father."

As she spoke the two joined in hands, giving each other soft yet genuine smiles as they truly did love the other, despite it happening so fast.

"We both believed that Robert, like you, was-uh, well gone." Walter continued after his wife in his usual calm english manner, not wanting to bring up Oliver's near death experience.

"It's fine," Oliver snapped a little too quickly a look of discomfort or annoyance on his face as the smile he'd had turned tight. "may I be excused?"

And noticing his discomfort along with Evelyn, Moira nodded her head knowing her son needed time to process everything that was going on.

Which was why he stood so fast to exit the room.

"Hey, don't forget about tomorrow, buddy." Tommy spoke out as Oliver began to leave the room, not wanting his friend to forget despite the already sullen mood in the room.

Although before he left Oliver made sure to confirm their city trip with a nod of his head, his annoyed and tight-nit attitude quickly drawing a reaction from Evelyn.

Who suddenly stood from her seat in order to go check on him, something she would usually do as the Queen family wasn't one for sentimental moments.

Although she was stopped before she could even take a step.

"Evelynn," Moira spoke up loudly grabbing the girl's attention,  causing her head to turn towards her as she stood at the table. "he needs a moment to himself."

Glancing back towards the door Oliver had walked out of, Evelyn hesitated for a moment on going after him, before ultimately deciding it was entirely to rude.

"Yes ma'am." She obediently spoke as she sat down in her chair, forcing herself to push the food around her plate for a few minutes before asking to be excused.

Going up to Oliver's bed anyway were he avoided the topic entire, instead asking about her new life and every thing she'd experience that they'd planned along side each other.

The two discussing everything she'd done in the last five years up until it was time to bathe before retiring to their own bedrooms, in the same posh manner Thea made fun of for so many years.
