All was normal in the Xio base. Daichi and Asuna reported in for duty, Lieutenant Tachibana still at her desk. Hayato and Wataru joined as well, joking with each other like rivals turned best friends would. The team was doing routine monitoring on the nearby cities and occasional check-ins on the rest of the country, the status looking all green.
Doctor Gourman was in the lab area, having just woken up from his post-meal nap. Everything was all green in the lab as well. He patted his own stomach twice after standing up, and proceeded to head to the hangar to perform the routine maintenance on the Musketty system. "Alright... time to check on Rui and Mamoru." One of the monitors blinked red briefly, with Gourman tapping it to see what was wrong, with the monitor turning back to green as he walked away, not noticing anything strange. A few minutes later, it then turned back to red and flashed with loud crackling.

Suddenly, everything turned to chaos in the operations room. The screens were all acting haywire as if there was an old 90's computer virus in the system, and the crackling made all the lights shut down. "Everyone, status report!" Before Tachibana could elaborate on her order, the lights and everything turned back on, seemingly normal.
A distorted voice spoke out with pure static on the screen. It then evened out a little bit and revealed large purple eyes with a black silhouette. "Foolish humans of Xio. Heed my warning. I am Alien Mefilas Irudex. You rely too much on your technology and have become complacent! Relinquish everything to me peacefully. I abhor violence but will not hesitate to use such brutish means to take over your base." Irudex pointed at the screen. "And don't even think of relying upon Ultraman X. Lest he becomes the one who brings your base to destruction! I have given you two hours to make your decision, lest I bring that base and all of Japan's infrastructure to ruin!" Everything flickered again, then proceeded back to normal as if a threat from an alien didn't just come in.
Tachibana sighed, closed her eyes, and rubbed the bridge of her nose with one hand. "Rest assured, Daichi. We aren't going to hand you or X over. Plus, you have security in place within the Zetton Armor, don't you?" She turned around to Takeru and Chiaki. "You two, issue a nationwide Phase 2 alert. Stand by to announce a possible Phase 3 to 5."
Daichi smiled despite the threat, looking at Takeru and Chiaki carrying out their duties. "Never had any doubts about the team." He then turned over to face the Lieutenant. "All our Cyber Armors have security measures. What happened those ten years ago with that Sran, it'll never happen again. I assure it. Two hours isn't a lot to work with... but it's certainly generous."
X was certainly worried, however. "Mefilas... those aliens are dangerous tricksters with the power to back up what they say. And this one seems a lot different than the ones I've seen around. It's almost as if he wants us to go out there and fight, that part's no different. Although, they never usually target communication systems directly like this. Either he's a rogue member of his species, or more likely... he has something up his sleeve that we've never faced before."
Daichi turned serious. "Either way, we'll have to face Irudex eventually. And we can't sit around waiting for him to strike first. We have to assume that he covered up his communication trail, and he never gave us a location to make our decision either. Something really isn't right."
Asuna held Daichi's shoulder, smiling. "You know he'll have to get through us first, to get to you and X. Especially me. I'll go ask the doc what he thinks about all this. Surely, two smart aliens with opposing views would be willing to have a battle of the minds." She proceeded to head towards the hangar where Doctor Gourman was, leaving the room.
